New Freelander.com Web Site Gives Consumers an Early Look at Land Rover Freelander

www.freelander.comLANHAM, Md - Land Rover North America, Inc. and AGENCY.COM, Ltd., (Nasdaq: ACOM), a leading e-business builder in global markets, today announced the official launch of a new web site dedicated entirely to Land Rover’s newest vehicle: Freelander. The new site, www.freelander.com, is based on Land Rover North America’s award-winning web site, www.best4x4.landrover.com, also developed by AGENCY.COM. Freelander.com is aimed at igniting consumer interest in the soon-to-be-launched Land Rover Freelander, which will arrive on U.S. shores in Dec. 2001.

The site offers a sneak peek at the Land Rover Freelander, a vehicle that has thus far been shown publicly in North America only a few times. A Flash animated introduction demonstrates the versatility of the vehicle and the site offers a look at the authentic British heritage of Land Rover, as well as early press reviews of Freelander and an advance look at the vehicle’s impressive specifications. Site visitors are able to register and receive the most up-to-date information as it is released to the public and send the site’s URL to colleagues and friends via e-mail.

Freelander will be the first small, premium European sport-utility vehicle ever sold in the U.S. market. The five-door Freelander, the first all-new Land Rover model for North America since 1994, comes from the same British lineage as Range Rover and Discovery but is a more compact interpretation of the premium SUV package. From the earliest design stages, Freelander was developed to offer drivers capability for the widest breadth of driving conditions, from the city to the highway and to serious off-road driving. As with all Land Rovers, Freelander strives to offer best-in-class off-road potential – true go-anywhere capability.

Land Rover FreelanderAlong with a permanent all-wheel drive system and four-wheel electronic traction control, Freelander features Hill Descent Control, long wheel travel, a center viscous coupling, a 2.5-litre, 24-valve DOHC V6 engine and all of the off-road performance consumers expect from Land Rover vehicles. With creative input from GSD&M, Land Rover’s traditional advertising agency and brand strategist, AGENCY.COM was able to provide Land Rover North America with an exceptional site that piques the users’ curiosity while providing a fresh online experience. The newly launched site will be refreshed and updated in the coming months and, by late summer, customers will actually be able to place an order on Freelander.com and reserve the opportunity to be amongst the first Freelander buyers in the U.S.

“We have captured the intrigue of the new Freelander online,” said Dean Evans, Land Rover North America’s interactive media & e-commerce manager. “And we are confident that Freelander.com will build interest in Freelander and drive interested customers into our Land Rover showrooms.”

“We are thrilled to continue our work with Land Rover on the new Freelander.com site,” said Don Scales, regional president, AGENCY.COM : Dallas. “Freelander offers best-in-class off-road excitement and on-road luxury. Our goals for Freelander.com were to convey excitement and ignite customer interest in this vehicle – we are very pleased with the initial results.”

Land Rover North America has been working with AGENCY.COM on a number of projects, including the official Land Rover North America web site, since June 2000.
