Riverton,
Utah - The American Rock Crawlers Association (ARCA) announced
today that it is expanding horizons. Working with the International
Rock Crawlers Association (IRCA), ARCA again leads the way in
promoting rockcrawling on an international level.
IRCA is an
association that will promote and sanction rock crawling competitions
similar to those of ARCA on an international level with competitions
between National champions.
IRCA will
sanction ARCA as well as other associations holding rock crawling
competitions in various countries. The purpose and goal of IRCA
is to grow the sport of rock crawling by uniting 4wd associations,
clubs and enthusiasts from around the world.
This growth
is due to the tremendous support from different media sources
helping enthusiasts connect with the sport of rock crawling both
on national and international levels. Articles in AutoWeek Magazine,
Car & Driver, the Washington Time, as well as all national
four-wheel drive magazines, have helped to promote the sport and
prompt both growth and change to the Goodyear/ Skyjacker Extreme
Rock Crawling Nationals. Televisions Outdoor Channel is showcasing
the sport. ARCA events have also been seen on The History Channel,
The Edge Of Outdoors, and the very popular "Junkyard Wars."
Ranch Pratt,
President of ARCA said: "We are seeing more and more support
from around the world." A two-times event winner, driver
Walker Evans said: "rock crawling is the fastest growing
motor sport I've seen in my racing career."
In conjunction
with partnering with IRCA, the American Rock Crawlers Association
announced that they will be changing their name to the Rock Crawlers
Association of America (RCAA), still pronounced ARCA.
