Ogden, UT - Diesel-performance specialist Edge Products now applies its air/fuel and electronics expertise to Jeeps. The company offers the new Trail Jammer system for 1997-current Wranglers and Cherokees that have the fuel-injected 4.0L straight-six engine.

This purely bolt-on kit improves torque by 15%. Edge's dyno-testing on a 2000 Wrangler with a 5-speed manual transmission showed baseline rear-wheel output of 156 HP / 202 ft-lb of torque. With the Trail Jammer system installed, the Jeep produced 177 HP / 232 ft-lb. The Trail Jammer kit includes three main components: a throttle body, an electronic module and a cold-air intake system. Edge's high-flow throttle body will be offered in either cast or billet aluminum. Its 62mm bore accommodates increased airflow and improves overall driveability. Edge optimizes fueling between the Jeep's PCM and its 4.0L engine on-the-fly with its Trail Jammer Electronic Module. This black box uses a factory-style harness to plug into engine sensors under the hood. Air enters through the Trail Jammer's cold-air intake, which flows 97% better than stock: 195 cfm compared to the OE 99 cfm. The system's oil-impregnated, cotton-mesh filter traps dirt and debris and is washable/reusable. The Trail Jammer system is designed for do-it-yourself installation; the job can be completed in an hour or less. MSRP for the complete kit is $949.00 or $649.00 for just the throttle body and electronic module.
