Slots Still Open in Warn Rockcrawling Championship

Sports-in-the-roughThis info is going to everyone that has expressed an interest in competing in the 1999 Warn National Rock Crawling Championship. An earlier mailing was sent in January to the '98 participants notifying them of some rule changes for the '99 event, the new event dates and location and that application for entry would be open to past competitors only until May 1st. There's a limit of 60 qualified drivers/vehicles for the '99 event and we'll start accepting applications from everyone after that date. Applications from newcomers should be postmarked NO earlier than May 1st. The 1st 60 qualified drivers/vehicles that apply will fill the event.

The '99 event will be held in Johnson Valley, CA over November 19-21 with check in and the drivers meeting held on Thu the 18th.

Please know up front that this event will be an extreme test of rock crawling for both man and machine such that you've probably never seen or experienced before. We'll be using routes that are not on the established trails as you may know them. This IS NOT for anyone that gets overly concerned about body damage and parts breakage although I'd expect that the better prepared vehicles and drivers won't experience any damage at all.

All vehicles must be street legal in the sense that they have a current tag/registration and they must also carry insurance. Drivers are encouraged to include an extra person, a spotter, that would ride along and help guide them through the obstacles.

This event in Johnson Valley is only made possible by the help of the Victor Valley 4 Wheelers club. This club is responsible for all these cool 4x4 trails being available for everyone's use. All the hard-core trails there have been 'built' over the years by these fine folks.

We'll have a super event and always feel free to call with any questions.
