    1987 chevrolet suburban shifting problems

I'm a trans rebuilder and to me it sounds like you burned up your 3-4 clutch pack... Extremely common problem with those

No, not much of a sand dune guy. At least not in my truck (not made for it) maybe someday when I can get my hands on some quads, I would love to go over there with quads!!

Ok I got my fenders done now, on the passenger side rear fender I welded in a gas door, reason being I set up my onboard air right behind it on the firewall so my air hook up is behind the gas door

Finally got some front fender work in on it. I welded tabs on the tube because I wanted the fenders bolt on so someday when I do the motor I can just pull the fenders off and have complete access.

Tested it out on a ramp today... Major improvement, very happy with how it turned out. I was just barely starting to lift my rear tire and a pic of how it sits now before I pull a couple leafs out

Update: redid the front shackle setup, got it setup for more down travel, grooved the tires and setup my onboard air system (no pics of that though). I still need to drop the front another 2" I'm thinking but it sits pretty level now. I'm going to pull a couple leafs out and see where that gets me

    85 4runner Help

If you want to be technical it's called "throttle valve cable" or "TV cable" or "kickdown cable" everyone calls it something different. I'm a tranny rebuilder, I've heard it called a lot of different things

    85 4runner Help

Sounds like the throttle cable for the trans is out of adjustment or broken. The cable is attached to your throttle so when you step on the gas it pulls the cable and pushes a valve in the valve body making more pressure in the trans so it shifts later, so if its too loose or broken its gonna...

Yeah no kidding!!! Still have quite a bit of work to do before I hit the trails but I'm getting there. Hoping to be done at the latest for snow runs, hoping to be done before though. Here's some progress on the front. I wanted to be at the edge of the frame and just do a bar up and over then...

Some more updates... I finally got my f-350 master cylinder in (I've had it for a year), moved the rear axle back a couple inches, re-did my rear shackles, lowered the back about 3-4" with the new setup, set it up for more down travel than I used to have, finally finished sectioning the truck...

    Gen 2 gears

Yukon 5.86 in a pair of Dana 60's, been wheeling them for 5 years+ and they've held up. Before that I had 5.13 yukons in my 1/2 ton Chevy running gear and I ran them for about 3 years, broke a lot of axles but no ring and pinions

Some more updated pics... I am actually going to section it all off so things aren't rolling from the front to the back while I'm wheeling. I moved my batteries to the back and I got some disassembly pics of the front as well...

    FJ40 project

I noticed you're running 1/4 elliptical, I am thinking about doing that in the back of my truck. How do you figure out ride height with that setup? Like say I have 6" springs in the front, how do you figure out what spring to use to make it level?
