Thank you for everyone's replies. I am going to go with some locktite because the new one seems right enough. If it frags then I guess I will replace it. Hopefully I will get some use out of it.

So I opened up my M20 for a re-gear and found that one of the carrier bearing races has spun and there was damage on the inside of the race and bearing as well. There is a little scaring on the housing and it seems that the old race is not very tight. There was no noise from the rear end at all...

The 4.2 has a Holley Projection throttle body on it so I already had fuel injection. It was a pain because I had to re-tune it every time the temperatures changed drastically, which here in ND is frequently.

Not making her a crawler but she will be more than capable of wheeling anywhere around here. My build list is kind of fluid right now but I am putting a new steel body on it that will be coated in bedliner. New rims, tires and suspension. Going from 33s to 35s. New gears and solid axles...
