Can't wait to see what all you come up with!! I can see you modified the rear of the chassis. Is that to make it a small 4 seater? Looks great!! keep up the good work.

    Dana 300 upgrades?

IF you have it spend the Money and get the 32 spline outputs! I'd also think about look at bracing the stock case. Reduction in front of a 300 puts a LOT more stress on the 300 parts.

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

I was able to spend some time over the holidays working on the buggy and its now a runner. Timing was the issue. I guess from siting for a couple years dirt and such caked up the crank drive pulley and when I went to start it jumped timing causing all the issues I listed above. While it is...

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

I have goggled that multiple times Woody and read a number of articles threads. No one has given the size of the bolt or thread direction. The u tube video I watched he didn't say it was LH either so I feel like if it was LH that would have come up somewhere. I'm super limited on time I get...

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

I'm 99.9% that the issue is the timing is far enough off that it won't run or make compression. With it apart I can see that the cam timing is over 1/4 turn off. I've got all the parts to replace the timing belt, idlers, tensioner and water pump (timing belt rides on the water pump). Issue...

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

What i thought was the ECM was the ABS module. I'll have to go digging to find the ECM. The ABS was where the internet said the ECM would be.

What a GREAT looking chassis and parts! Truly works of art. In the below photo, where the lower front links mount to the chassis. Is this done so the trans can be removed out the bottom? VERY VERY cool if that's finished. All the other pictures have a traditional tube all the way across so...

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

Yes It has very good spark. I'm going to soak all cylinders with marvel Mystery oil and try again after T-Day. I pulled the harness plugs and they were clean. I'll get some pictures of the ECU but it seems sealed shut.

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

I did not put oil in the cylinders but there was fuel in them I could see on top the pistons from trying to start it. I did pull the ECM and look at it. Its all sealed up. Non of the connectors were corroded but the outer case has some rust. Had a bunch of leaves all packed around it that...

    3.4L 5VZ-FE issues

Long shot but I thought I'd post here and ask! I bought a 4runner buggy from a friend of mine. It had been sitting for 2-4 years. Ran GREAT before he let it sit. Was sitting outside with the hood up. Intake was clean nothing got in. I don't see anything in the Exhaust. Nothing that I've...

    Build The Dirt Squirrel 3.0

I don't want to derail you're thread. current build doesn't have any brake parts yet and to the best of my budget will get brakes sized to work as you stated. Old buggy had dual 3/4 willwoods with a single 7:1 pedal. 1/2 single piston chevy calipers F&R. Auto with stock stall and 5.13's...

    Build The Dirt Squirrel 3.0

You've got me thinking now. I've always struggled to get a pedal I'm happy with using manual brakes. Wonder if adding a 3rd caliper to the rear output on the t-case....In addition to normal wheel brakes in the rear would help get good breaks without having to be Popeye to push them.

Congrats on driving on and off the trailer for the shake down run!! Question on he brakes. I see you're running brank light weight brakes in the front.... are you only running the T-case brake on the rear axle?

Seat mounts are very cool! Are they pretty loss when no one is sitting in the seat? I want to steal this idea but chances or the passenger seat will be empty most of the time....No one is crazy enough to ride with me. 😂🤣 Also just noticed only the crotch strap will come thru the seat? All...

    Nylon brake lines

Most of the guys I wheel with used them and have had no issues. I used them on my last buggy with zero issues. It used 3/4 and 1/2 ton calipers with willwood 3/4 master cylinders. My brakes sucked so i'm assuming the pressure was "low" for a braking system. I routed them carefully and even...
