Getting educated in PA

Well, Hopefully I will retire at 70 and start overlanding. I'm retired military and presently a civil servant for the US Army. I am not a mechanic, nor even do mechanical stuff as a hobby. But, am wanting to start, as it will be critical for my overlanding challenges. So, I intend to learn from those that have tread this path before me...I want to learn for your mistakes and successes. I got into this stuff in 1989 with a 1977 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser. I'd never even changed my own oil at that point. Arguably, I haven't learned much since then...lol
