Dave Despain talks to Tony Schumacher
TONY SCHUMACHER – NHRA LEGEND …ONLY ON THE DAVE DESPAIN SHOW
Corona, CA (Monday, July 14, 2015): Dave’s guest this Sunday night, July 19 at 8:30pm ET is superstar drag racer Tony “The Sarge” Schumacher, known for his intense personality and buzzcut hairstyle. In this interview, Schumacher doesn’t back off from Dave’s penetrating question style, revealing his precise mental approach to one of the world’s most dangerous motorsports. It’s not easy becoming a legend in a sport which has produced many great names such as Don Garlits or Joe Amato in the NHRA’s elite Top Fuel Class, but Tony Schumacher has done that and more. “When I’m strapped into the U.S. Army car and the light comes on, the only thing I’m going to be worried about is hitting the gas and getting down the racetrack,” said Tony Schumacher.
Schumacher has won an astonishing eight Top Fuel championships including 2004-2009 consecutively as well as capturing the 2014 title. Truly living up to the adage ‘pedal to the metal,’ in 1999 he became the first driver ever to exceed 330mph in competition, and in 2005 set a world record for the fastest ¼-mile top fuel run of 337.58mph at Brainerd, Minnesota.
On Sunday, July 12, 2015, Schumacher regained his lead in the 2015 NHRA Top Fuel Championship chase with a victory at his home track in Joliet, IL, beating teammate Anton Brown in the Top Fuel final eliminations Lucas Oil Route 66 Nationals at Route 66 Raceway.
Schumacher was born in on December 25, 1969 and lives in Chicago, Illinois. He is the son of former funny car driver Don Schumacher and drives for his father’s multi-team organization.
MAVTV is currently available on DirecTV, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, Charter, Bright House, Cablevision, Google Fiber, Suddenlink, and many others.

DEI Introduces Fuel Injector Reflective Heat Covers – Designed to Prevent Vapor Lock and Heat Soak
Avon Lake, Ohio (July 13, 2015)…In hot temps, both performance and factory fuel injectors can be at risk of vapor lock or heat soak causing a rough idle, slow starting or other potential serious engine problems. DEI has the solution by introducing Fuel Injector Reflective Heat Covers available in packs of two, four, six or eight, that reflect direct and radiant heat away from the injectors. Constructed of high-temperature rated glass fiber material bonded to a heat reflective aluminized material, DEI’s Fuel Injector Heat Covers can be used on most any engine configuration utilizing stock or aftermarket fuel injectors. Cooler fuel injectors will perform more efficiently, offering a more consistent throttle response.
Installation is a breeze as the injectors do not have to be removed. The covers are made with a split design allowing them to wrap around each individual injector and are secured with a sewn-in hook and loop fastening edge.
