  • The 4 Wheel Parts Mint 400 Vehicle Parade Set to Rumble Down the Las Vegas Strip March 11th at 1:00pm

    March 8th, 2015 – San Diego, CA – For the third consecutive year, the world’s toughest off-road race vehicles will parade down world famous Las Vegas Strip during the 4 Wheel Parts Mint 400 Vehicle Parade. This year, the parade will span fourteen miles, beginning at South Point Hotel & Casino and stretch all the way to Fremont Street, officially kicking off the 2015 Polaris RZR Mint 400 presented by General Tire.  The massive group of off-road racecars will be led by Off-Road Legend and  Mint 400 Champion, “Lightning” Larry Ragland.

    Over ten million dollars worth of custom fabricated off-road racecars will be on display, and thunder down the Strip, in tribute to the famed Mint 400 vehicle processions that took place on Fremont Street decades ago. The vehicles are part of a massive field of 330 entries that will compete Saturday, March 14th just outside of Las Vegas at The Great American Off-Road Race.

    The 4 Wheel Parts Mint 400 Vehicle Parade will end with an off-road style kick-off party featuring, food, beer, music and the KMC Wheels Pit Crew Challenge Qualifying presented by Mystik Lubricants. Any team wishing to compete in the Mint 400 Pit Crew Challenge can qualify to compete in the finals, which will take place Thursday evening at 6:30pm.     March 3rd, 2015 – San Diego, CA – The Mint 400 announced the return of the KMC Wheels Pit Crew Challenge presented by Mystik Lubricants today. This year marks the fourth in a row that the Mint 400 will host the ultimate single-elimination pit crew contest in front of a crowd of thousands of off-road enthusiasts and race team members. The showdown will be held at the all new “Mint 400 Experience” on 10th and Fremont St., directly across the street from Atomic Liquors in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. Qualifying will be held Wednesday March 11th at 5pm, immediately following the 4 Wheel Parts Mint 400 Vehicle Parade. The all or nothing finals will be held Thursday March 12th at 6:30pm, right after the crowning of the new 2015 Miss Mint 400!

    The Mint 400 Pit Crew Challenge is a celebration of the dedicated mechanics, volunteers, and pit captains that spend countless hours prepping, maintaining and fixing off-road race vehicles before, during, and after they compete. As the margin between first and second overall winner at The Mint 400 becomes more and more narrow each year – the difference between a championship and second place can literally come down to the speed of one pit stop during the epic race!

    New to The Mint 400 this year, and due to the generous support of KMC Wheels and Mystik Lubricants, Wednesday’squalifying event is open to all teams and classes!  The Trick Truck (1400) and 1500 Classes will each qualify for four open spots in the main event on Thursday, where they will meet four teams already seeded in the main event.  For all other classes, the top two times will be taken to the main event on Thursday, March 12th in a do or die battle to claim the top pit crew in the class!

    NORRA Reunites Cars, Trucks and Bikes on Mint 400’s “Memory Lane”

    March 5th, 2015 – San Diego, CA – Huge crowds and the sparkling neon of historic downtown Las Vegas will once again serve as a perfect backdrop for off-road racing history to come alive at the upcoming Polaris RZR Mint 400 presented by General Tire. For the third time in as many years, the National Off-Road Racing Association (NORRA) will help organize a special Mint 400 “Vintage Show N’ Shine” on Friday, March 13th at the race’s legendary Tech and Contingency day on Las Vegas’ famous Fremont Street. A popular part of the Mint 400 experience, for 2015 NORRA hopes to gather an impressive collection of rolling history in an area known as “Memory Lane.”

    NORRA promotes and organizes the annual General Tire NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally, a vintage-flavored on and off-road stage rally that runs the length of the Baja peninsula. Scheduled to take place on April 25-29, for 2015 competitors will enjoy a fun-filled journey from Ensenada, Baja Mexico to the world-class resort city of San Jose del Cabo. More than 150 entries are expected to take part in an event fondly known as “The Happiest Race on Earth.”

    The list of famous off-road vehicles expected at the 2015 Mint 400 “Show N’ Shine” is expected to include many one-of-a-kind iconic desert racing vehicles – many that competed in the Mint 400 during their heyday.
