  • Jason Scherer Will Start on Pole Position of 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers

    Scherer KOH13 Qualify 1DANVILLE, CA   FEBRUARY 7, 2013   Jason Scherer will be starting first at the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers after a very impressive time of 3:19:07 during his qualifying run on Wednesday.  “That was super fun.  The Rubicon Express Nitto car is perfect for King of the Hammers and we are ready for the race.  We know the pace and the strategy we need to win.  Now it’s time to execute our game plan!”

  • SEMA HAMMERS MESSAGE: SAVE JOHNSON VALLEY OHV RECREATION AREA

    semaTWENTYNINE PALMS, CA. (Feb. 7, 2013) – The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has joined with the Off-Road Business Association (ORBA) and a coalition of other land use advocacy organizations to keep the Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area open to enthusiasts.

    The Marine Corps wants to expand its base at Twentynine Palms, California to include ownership of nearly 147,000 acres of adjacent land in Johnson Valley in order to conduct large-scale training exercises for one or two months a year.  (more…)

  • Jason Scherer Gets Redemption At 4Wheel Parts Qualifying Rounds

    scherer-kohFebruary 7, 2012 (Johnson Valley, CA) – After the dust settled on two days of qualifying for the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers, 2009 champion Jason Scherer posted the fastest time in the No. 76 Rubicon Express /  Nitto Tire car. Last year Scherer arrived on the lake bed with a brand new single seat race car and suffered in qualifying as a result, having to get out of the car and stack rocks in order to complete the qualifying course.  After a year of fine tuning and fresh off a victory at the PSC Brawl at Blackwell Nitto Tire Nationals, it is clear that Scherer has all of the bugs worked out.  “That was incredibly fun!  The Rubicon Express / Nitto car is perfect for KOH and we are ready for the race.  We know the pace and the strategy we need to win.  Now it’s time to execute our game plan.”  Scherer commented.   • FOX Athletes capture numerous victories at BITD season opener.

    FOX athletes begin the 2013 Best in the Desert racing series with multiple wins and a clean sweep of the 6100 class podium on a tough Parker, Arizona race course.  

    Photo of Andrew Myers and Ross SavageEl Cajon, Calif. – Miles of deep sand and brutal rocks strewn across the legendary Parker 425 race course took its toll on many competitors but failed to prevent FOX athletes from wins in classes 1500, 1000, 1100, 6100 and 2000.

    In the unlimited open wheel class, (1500) Corey Keysar took the win and fifth place overall ahead of FOX athlete Brian Parkhouse in second. “We were not concerned about a top qualifying position, it is a long race,” said Corey, “We ran just hard enough in time trials to start ahead of the slower cars in our class. On raceday, we would need a clean run. We had no issues, our FOX shocks were flawless.” (more…)
