General Tire, Wahoo’s and Azunia Tequila Deliver a World of Possibilities to Rancho El Milagro
- The fifth annual Baja Children’s Support Run raised $3,000 to buy supplies in addition to building a multi-media center for more than 40 orphans.
Fort Mill, S.C. – Nov. 23, 2011. General Tire, Wahoo’s Tacos and Azunia Tequila, delivered an early Thanksgiving to some deserving orphans at the Rancho El Milagro (www.ranchomilagro.org) orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico last Wednesday prior to the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. The group was joined by several teams participating in this year’s Baja 1000 at the fifth annual Baja Children’s Support Run. The volunteers collected $3,000 to buy supplies, in addition to building a multi-media center for the more than 34 children and staff of the orphanage. The focus of this year’s event was to install a multi-media center, including new computers and desks, so the kids could discover the world of possibilities that lie ahead for them. (more…) -

Rob MacCachren Wins The Battle Against Baja But Loses The War For The Season Title
While the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 was only 692 miles long this year, none of those miles came easy for any team. “In Baja you don’t necessarily race against each other,” explained five time Baja 1000 winner Rob MacCachren, “you race against Baja itself.” After conquering San Felipe to win both SCORE races there earlier this season, the notorious whoops finally got their revenge when the No. 20 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / MasterCraft Safety / BFGoodrich Tires Trophy Truck experienced suspension component failure that additionally took out the power steering at Race Mile 458. Kent Kroeker Wins SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 in Class 8 on General Tires
- Kroeker claims his second career Baja 1000 win.
Baja California, Mexico – (November 20, 2011) After a lengthy delay, due to a jack-knifed passenger truck towards the start line, the Class 8 division headed out for their adventure in the desert with Kent Kroeker representing General Tire (Team GT). The 2004 Baja 1000 winner maneuvered through the treacherous terrain with one goal in mind, another win. And that’s just what he did.
