NOVEMBER 21, 2013 – The Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 held its 46th annual motorsport competition across the Baja peninsula and over a most treacherous journey through the wild deserts and into the untamed mystique of Northern Mexico. Known as the world’s most arduous non-stop off road racing event, the Baja 1000 demands every ounce of courage that one could muster just to even take the green flag and start down the course at speed. Braver than most,BJ Baldwin, dominated Baja in a King Shock equipped Chevrolet Silverado Trophy Truck and crossed the finish line during the early hours of Saturday morning on November 16, 2013 to claim the overall victory. Fort Mill, SC – December 7, 2011. “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin entered the final race of the 2011 Best In The Desert (BITD) Series with one goal, to win the Trick Truck championship. And he did just that. Ballistic BJ Baldwin Uses Home Field Advantage To Win 2011 General Tire SNORE Mint 400
BJ Baldwin came into the 2011 General Tire SNORE Mint 400 with only one goal for the weekend: victory. After overcoming a host of setbacks to earn a second place finish last year, the only room for improvement for Ballistic BJ was an overall win. While some series have a drawing for starting position, SNORE holds qualifying to determine starting order. This allowed Baldwin to rely on his skills instead of the luck of the draw. The result: a first place qualifying position in his No. 97 General Tire / Monster Energy Unlimited Truck. The top qualifying position earned Baldwin a strategic advantage on the first lap of the four lap race with clean air when the green flag dropped for the 2011 General Tires SNORE Mint 400. (more…)
