April 30, 2011- Las Vegas, NV: From grocery-getting Expeditions to monstrous blue-tubed buggies, it was hard to miss the unlimited 4-wheel drive class known as Ultra4 at last weekend’s Best in the Desert Silver State 300. The Ultra4 class, identifiable by their 4400 numbers, proved once again that they can hold their own in the desert: They were both the largest class at the start line and the largest class to cross the finish line at Saturday’s 300 mile high-speed race through Nevada’s scenic back country. The drivers had weather on their side as cool temperatures kept overheating issues at bay and windy conditions made passing easier on a course that is already known to be a smooth, fast course well suited for many of the Ultra4 cars. Adam Householder Shocks The Competition To Win The BITD Silver State 300
No one gave Householder Motorsports much of a chance of winning last weekend’s Best In The Desert (BITD) Bilek Silver State 300, but that’s what makes off-road racing great.Anyone can win at any race. Adam Householder had never won a Trick Truck (BITD’s equivalent of SCORE’s Trophy Truck class) race and qualified 28th at the Silver State 300. Despite the odds, Householder never let his confidence waiver. “Qualifying was really tight, we were only 18 seconds back but that was enough to push us back to 28th.” Householder explained. “We ran conservative in qualifying and saved our best for the race.” -
Torchmate Racing Sends Three Cars to BITD Bilek Silver State 300 JT Taylor #4413, Jesse Haines #4499, Mike Shaffer #1066
RENO, NV APRIL 27, 2011 Torchmate Racing JT Taylor will be driving #4413 and Jesse Haines will be driving #4499 at the Best in the Desert Bilek Silver State 300 race this weekend in the commonly known Ultra4 class which will be the largest class at this years Silver State event. Mike Shaffer will be running the Torchmate racing #1066 Class 1000 car. The race will start in Alamo, Nevada about 95 miles north of Las Vegas on Saturday April 30th. General Tire Dominates the Best in the Desert Championship
HENDERSON, Nevada – (Dec 6, 2010) – Team General Tire crushed the competition taking Best in the Desert Championships in three classes. “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin unleashed the fury this season on BITD and won the Championship in the Trick Truck class. One of GT’s young guns Jason Voss followed up with a 2nd place finish in the championship and won the Trick Truck class at the TransWest Ford Henderson 250 Dec 3rd – 5th.David Schneider also answered the GT calling with a championship in class 4400, as well as Louis Chamberlin gave the competition his all and won the championship in class 7-2. Procuring General’s first championship in a desert racing series since its re-launch into desert racing in 2007, Team GT pulled out all the stops at this Best in the Desert series crowning event.
