  • Rick D. Johnson takes home first in Trick Truck and first overall for Team GT at 2010 BITD Vegas to Reno

    LAS VEGAS, NV – (August 23, 2010) – Team General Tire’s Rick D. Johnson stole the show with an incredible victory at the 2010 Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno Race Aug. 20, landing him not only first in Trick Truck, but first overall.

    The dust did more than soar for Johnson’s opponents at Friday’s heart-pounding BITD race – it consumed them. The Team General Tire Trick Truck driver left his contenders in a cloud of dust as he took an incredible 3-mile lead. He held his position strong, battling through the desert’s rugged terrain and remaining at the head of the pack at mile marker 355. (more…)

  • Roger Norman and Armin Schwartz Place 2nd in 2010 BITD Vegas to Reno

    RENO, NV     AUGUST 22, 2010  –  Roger Norman started 26th and finished 2nd, third overall, in the Crystal Bay Casino #8 Trick Truck class with Armin Schwartz joining the team for the 2010 Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno race.  After a bad qualifying run put them into the 26th spot to start, they overcame about 11 minutes of downtime working on the truck and still climbed up into 2nd out of 48 Class 1400 Trick Trucks registered for Friday August 20, 2010 race.

    “We had a great race and everything went really well overall!  I am glad that Armin was able to join us for his first experience in a trophy truck. It is tough because it is completely different to drive than a Class 1 car, but he did a great job!” said Norman. (more…)

  • TrailReady Motorsports wins big in Silver State 300

    TrailReady Motorsports set up a display at the new Aliante Resort in North Las Vegas, NV to an unusually small crowd in preparation for the Best in the Desert Silver State 300.

    On Saturday, however, the results for TrailReady were huge as TrailReady equipped race vehicles placed 1st in Ultra 4 (the rock racer class) with Loren Healy, winner of the recent King of the Hammers, 1st in Trick Truck with Jason Voss, 1st and 2nd in class 8 with Mcrae Glass and Scott McFarland, and 1st and 3rd place in class 12 with Banning Motorsports.  Trailready backs its HD Series wheels with a one year unlimited replacement warranty for racers.   (more…)

  • Kevin Yoder Takes More Checkered Flags in his Fast Red Rock Buggy

    GRASS VALLEY, CA     MAY 14, 2010    Kevin Yoder has had an exceptional start to the 2010 racing season.  His “fast red” PitBull Tires Rock Buggy made its debut on PowerBlock TV in front of 5million SpikeTV viewers just before he took on the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers finishing a very respectable 13th.  Yoder has already completed two short course VORRA races finishing 2nd in both, and finished 3rd at the BITD Bilek Racing Silver State 300, putting him in 2nd place in both the Grand Slam of Offroad Racing and VORRA series.  All of these successes have come within 3 months in the same barn built buggy that he has built and raced over the last five years.     Sacalas’ “Big Ugly” Takes Close 2nd at Silver State 300

    Kevin Sacalas went into last week’s BITD Silver State 300 with one goal: to prove he was a contender in the Ultra4 class. He did just that! At the end of 300 miles, one minute 18 seconds is all that separated Sacalas, the 2009 Vegas to Reno winner, from Loren Healy, the 2010 King of the Hammers winner. Ultimately, as they crossed the finish line, following a 90+ MPH drag race through the silt beds of the Nevada desert, Healy would take 1st with Sacalas coming in a close 2nd. Silver State 300 was Sacalas’ 3rd Ultra4 race in the 4435 car he built in his garage that fans have affectionately dubbed, “Big Ugly.” (more…)

  • OffRoad Design Ultra4 Leads the Pack at BITD Silver State 300

    CARBONDALE, CO     APRIL 30, 2010   The brother team of Stephen and Brandon Watson, in the Offroad Design Racing Ultra4 car, lead the pack at the 2010 BITD Silver State 300 for over 220 miles.  “We really felt like the car was dialed in, so we decided that we were not going to just finish this race, we were going to go for the win!” said Stephen Watson.  Starting second of sixteen in the Ultra4 class, all they had to do was keep everyone behind them.
