  • A Rollercoaster Weekend For ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren

    Rob MacCachren is no stranger to the podium
     In his quest to win his fourth consecutive Pro2 title, ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren knew that he needed a big weekend at Glen Helen Raceway.  While Rob tasted the thrill of victory on Saturday, he also felt the agony of defeat the following day.  On Saturday Rob Mac not only dominated at Glen Helen, he also learned that he will be inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame this year and will join the ranks of fellow racing legends such as Walker Evans and Ivan Stewart.  “I am honored to be included in the company of men who are heroes and mentors in the sport,” the humble MacCachren stated emotionally after the announcement.  MacCachren’s induction ceremony will be held at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum at the Pomona, California Fairgrounds during the weekend of the Lucas Oil Off Road Expo in October.  SCORE International held their drawing for the Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions on Saturday as well, and Rob MacCachren learned that he drew the number one starting position.  Unfortunately there was nowhere to go but down, as MacCachren experienced on Sunday.   • Look For ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren On The Podium At Glen Helen Raceway

    The grandstands were packed when the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) invaded historic Glen Helen Raceway earlier this season.  Dedicated race fans witnessed ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren set the fastest qualifying time for Saturday’s race and continue on to earn spots on the podium for both days in Pro2 Unlimited racing.  Now Rob Mac is headed back to Glen Helen for more LOORRS racing this weekend, and he is pulling out all of the stops to defend his 2010 season championship.  (more…)

  • Jason Scherer Finishes 3rd at 2011 King of the Hammers

    DANVILLE, CA   MARCH 7, 2011  Jason Scherer released his normally polite and respectful personality for the possessed man that races the number 76 car and accomplished his second podium finish at the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers.  Scherer started 36th out of 100 competitors with his brother Casey co-driving.  It was not long before the duo was passing the competition and out front, just as Scherer has done the past two years.   • Steve Olliges and Jonathan Swift Make A Huge Impact To Win SNORE’s Battle At Primm

    The No. 28 BFGoodrich / MasterCraft Safety Unlimited Truck of Steve Olliges and Jonathan Swift bested a field of 11 other competitors last weekend to take the win at SNORE’s Battle at Primm in the premier Unlimited Truck class and second overall.  Jonathan Swift, son of racing legend and Ford Rough Riders driver John Swift, drove on Saturday and put the team’s new Geiser Brothers truck second in class, erasing any doubts about whether he inherited the racing gene from his father.  “Our MasterCraft Safety 3G suspension seats and Impact! by MasterCraft harnesses kept me secure over the rough course and really let me focus on just driving the truck,” Swift commented after the race.
