  • Rob MacCachren Puts ROCKSTAR Energy Drink Atop The Podium Once Again

    Rob MacCachren took home the hardware in front of his hometown crowd

    The latest Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) short course action took place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend as the race community paid their final respects to Pro4 Unlimited competitor Rick Huseman.  Huseman’s life was cut short three weeks ago in a small plane crash that also took his brother Jeff and friend Danny Hicks.  Many teams were running No. 36 stickers on their trucks to honor Huseman, including reigning Pro2 Unlimited champion Rob MacCachren.  (more…)
  • John Swift and Steve Olliges Finish Third Overall At Blue Water Desert Challenge

    Competition was fierce at last weekend’s Best In The Desert (BITD) Blue Water Desert Challenge, with 17 Class 1400 Trick Trucks battling for season points and the overall win at the two-day event.   Steve Olliges and co-driver Jason Bateman were 13th off the line on Saturday in the No. 28 BFGoodrich / MasterCraft Safety Trick Truck.  Despite heavy dust resulting from triple digit temperatures and no wind, Olliges was able to pass enough competitors to move up to fourth place on in Saturday’s standings.  “I backed off when the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, but our Dougan Racing Engine never let us down after running in the red hour after hour,” Olliges shared.

    Rob Mac puts it up on two wheelsROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren put on a driving clinic during the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) first stop at Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona earlier this year.  Since that time, the reigning Pro2 Unlimited champion has experienced his share of ups and downs, and was looking to regain the dominance he is famous for with the return to Surprise last weekend.  The ROCKSTAR Energy Drink was flowing as thirsty fans overcame the triple digit heat at Speedworld to watch MacCachren qualify third last Friday, which put him on the first row for Saturday’s main event.

    Eagle River, WI (September 20, 2011) – After a great second place finish during Round 10 at Crandon, Mike Oberg and his #80 AMSOIL BFGoodrich Tires Chevy were looking for continued success at The Dirt Track at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. With only ten days to prepare for the midweek event, Oberg Motorsports brought both of his PRO-2WD trucks ensure nothing could prevent the team from competing in both rounds of racing.     Hundreds gathered to pay tribute to Rob Mac
     Crandon, Wisconsin is a magical place for short course racing fans.  The “Big House” is where legends are made, and this Labor Day weekend more than 40,000 people gathered at Crandon International Raceway and honored one of those legends.  ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren is scheduled to be inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame next month in conjunction with the Off Road Expo in Pomona; however he did not know that he would be the center of attention at Crandon last Thursday night.  The tribute to Rob Mac’s illustrious career included colorful stories from racing legend Curt LeDuc and fellow Rough Rider Scott Taylor, as well as Crandon Raceway owner, Cliff Flannery.   • John Swift and Steve Olliges Take The Bronze At Vegas To Reno

    John Swift and Steve Olliges knew that competition would be tough for the 2011 Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno race when over 250 drivers tossed their hat in the ring.  The entry list for the longest desert race in America included 27 competitors in the marquee Trick Truck class, all vying with the No. 28 BFGoodrich / MasterCraft Safety truck of Swift and Olliges.  The event started with tech and contingency, where the biggest buzz was not about their unlimited Trick Truck, but Olliges’ beautiful ’79 Ford F150 that will be campaigned in Best In The Desert’s Class 8 starting at the Bluewater Desert Challenge in October.   “The truck really resonates with people, young and old, who appreciate desert racing’s rich heritage,” Olliges noted.
