    General Tire’s Jeff ‘OX’ Kargola, Walker Evans’ RJ Anderson seek to keep winning streak alive

    RENO, NV— The last bolts are being tightened, the dents and gashes from last race’s crashes repaired, and the drivers itching to be back on dirt chasing the SuperLite Championship Series crown at the Surprise, Ariz. Speedworld Off-Road Park for rounds three and four of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, April 16 and 17.

    Walker Evans Racing’s RJ Anderson and General Tire’s Jeff “Ox” Kargola each jumped to the top of the leader board with their respective wins in the first two rounds of SuperLite racing action.   • Ballistic BJ Baldwin Uses Home Field Advantage To Win 2011 General Tire SNORE Mint 400

    Ballistic BJ Baldwin pushed hard to take the checkered flag at the Mint 400BJ Baldwin came into the 2011 General Tire SNORE Mint 400 with only one goal for the weekend: victory.  After overcoming a host of setbacks to earn a second place finish last year, the only room for improvement for Ballistic BJ was an overall win.  While some series have a drawing for starting position, SNORE holds qualifying to determine starting order.  This allowed Baldwin to rely on his skills instead of the luck of the draw.  The result: a first place qualifying position in his No. 97 General Tire / Monster Energy Unlimited Truck. The top qualifying position earned Baldwin a strategic advantage on the first lap of the four lap race with clean air when the green flag dropped for the 2011 General Tires SNORE Mint 400. (more…)

    General Tire at the Mint 400

    LAS VEGAS – (March 28, 2010) – Team General Tire crushed the competition, sweeping the podium at the 2011 Mint 400 in Las Vegas March 26.  ‘Ballistic’ BJ Baldwin continues to unleash his fury this season.  Leading the pack for the majority of the race, BJ crossed the line victorious, followed by his father Bobby Baldwin in second and Mikey Childress in third.  New GT drivers Randy Merrit tookfirst in Stock Full followed by Macrae Glass with a first place finish in Class 8. GT spec class drivers Perry Coan received first place in Jeepspeed Challenge and Troy Messer took first in Trophylite.   • General Tire announces the winner of the 2011 Miss Mint 400 competition – Keli Snyder

    • USC student and Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing reporter Keli Snyder is named Miss Mint 400 for 2011
    • Snyder will receive $1,500 and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be titled Miss Mint 400.  Previous Miss Mint 400 winners include Vanna White and Lynda Carter.

    LAS VEGAS – (March 28, 2011) – The 2011 General Tire Miss Mint 400 competition comes to an exciting finish.  After a fierce online voting competition and rounds of interviews, General Tire crowned Keli Snyder, a University of Southern California journalism student and a television host for Lucas Oil, as this year’s Miss Mint on Las Vegas’ Freemont Street.

  • Casey Currie – Pro Lite Champion Joins General Tire’s Off-Road Program for 2011 and Debuts new Truck Design

    Fort Mill, SC – (March 17, 2011) – General Tire announced sponsorship of ProLite short-course driver Casey Currie, known for sweeping the TORC champion weekend at Crandon last year and taking home the series Pro Lite title.
