    ULTRA4s Return To Glen Helen This Weekend

    ULTRA4s Return for 5th Annual 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix July 10th and 11th

    July 7th, 2015, GLEN HELEN RACEWAY: This weekend more than 100 ULTRA4 cars are returning to Glen Helen Raceway for the 5th Annual 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix. The weather is expected to be in the mid 80s during the day and these cars won’t return to Southern California again until next year’s King of The Hammers.

    This will be the second race of the 2015 ULTRA4 Trail-gear Western Regional Series. Many of the cars expected to compete also raced in the 2015 Nitto King of The Hammers presented by 4 Wheel Parts. The top 10 non-qualified drivers will earn themselves a spot in the 2016 King of The Hammers.  ULTRA4 drivers are also competing for a $10,000 purse.

    Top drivers are expected to be in attendance including former Kings of The Hammers; Loren Healy, Shannon Campbell and Jason Scherer. Top Nitto Series drivers such as Derek West, Wayland Campbell and the 2014 European ULTRA4 Champion Levi Shirley will also be in attendance.  Drivers are not only racing for podium positions but also points towards the Nitto National Championship.

    The format for the Southern California race combines Glen Helen’s short course track, motocross track and enduro tracks for a grueling grand prix style format.  The race is timed and the driver with the most laps in a given timeframe will be declared the winner. Spectators will have amazing views of the course as they watch drivers compete head to head with as many as 40+ cars on the track at once.

    On Friday, ULTRA4 drivers will qualify in the late afternoon. Qualfiying will determine starting position for the prelims on Saturday morning. The Main races start after noon on Saturday with the 4400 Main event taking place at 4:45! Wrist bands are $20 for the weekend. Dry Camping for spectators is free with the purchase of a wrist band.  Saturday will be an action packed day of racing with UTV, Legends, Stock and Modified  4 wheel drive vehicles also racing. Many of these vehicles also competed at the King of the Hammers in a race known as the Every Man Challenge Race which is a modified version of the main event. These vehicles are no strangers to high speed.

    Team ITP Racers Earn SxS Podiums at Glen Helen

    Veglia, Price Overcome Extreme Heat To Reach WORCS Podiums

    unnamed (6)Ontario, California, September 17, 2014 – ITP-supported side-by-side racers earned two class podiums at round eight of the Rocky Mountain ATV / MC World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) held at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, Calif.

    “We had an awesome weekend at Glen Helen, as we had two racers earn top-five finishes in the SxS Pro class, including Pablo Veglia getting on the box in third,” said Ryan Edwards, Tech Support Representative / West Coast Race Coordinator. “The course was fast and rough. The extremely high temperature was brutal on the drivers and their vehicles, but our team did a good job of battling the elements to earn very respectable finishes on ITP tires.”  (more…)

    2GLEN HELEN, CA – JULY 12th, 2014: Over 115 race teams descended upon Glen Helen Raceway the weekend of July 11th for the 4th annual 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix.  With nearly triple the car count of the inaugural 2011 race, the competition was fast and fierce for all classes. However, one driver stayed at the front of the pack all weekend and that was the current King, Loren Healy.     Race Prep Racing Takes the Checkered Flag At Glen Helen Grand Prix

    Richie Carter Win GH 7-12-14_800x600GLEN HELEN RACEWAY, CA – July 12, 2014   In their first Western Regional Race of 2014 and their first regional race in the newly created Ultra4 Legends Class, Race Prep Racing outlasted the other Legends teams and took the checkered flag for the win on July 12, 2014.  Richie Carter, driver of the 4474 Legends Class car, credits perseverance and hard work for the team’s success.

    The pit crew battled fueling issues all weekend still managing to put down good lap times during the preliminary heats when it counted.  Though the final wasn’t pretty – the car sputtered and popped during most of the race – this is endurance racing and the car, driver, and crew worked for 90 minutes keeping the car moving and the lap times consistent.  In the end, Race Prep Racing put down two more laps than its closest competitor and took the win in their class.     SAN BERNARDINO, CA May 28, 2013: Last weekend’s 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix marked the third annual ULTRA4 race held at Glen Helen Raceway and the second annual win for 2012 Nitto Tire National Champion, Nick Nelson.  It was the largest regional ULTRA4 race to date with 80 cars registering, 66 of which competed in the unlimited 4-wheel drive class known as ULTRA4.   • Race Prep Racing Caps a Strong Rookie Season with a Solid Finish at Glen Helen

    November 2011, California:  Privateer Ultra4 team Race Prep Racing completed their rookie season with a solid finish at Glen Helen Motorsports Park last month.  Richie Carter, driver, made 24 laps in the unpredictable endurance race that proved to be too difficult to finish for more than half the field.  This Race Prep Racing result puts the team in 11th place overall for the season, of the 182 teams racing Ultra4.
