  • Jason Scherer WINS Ultra4 Stampede Race at Home Track in Sacramento

    Jason Scherer Stampede 3DANVILLE, CA   APRIL 8, 2013   Jason Scherer wins the first race in the Ultra4 Trail Gear Western Series, the MetalCloak NorCal Stampede, at Prairie City SVRA on Saturday April 6th.   After finishing first in his pre-qualification heat race on Friday, he ran home to Danville, CA to replace and rebuild his differential before the main race on Saturday.  Showing up just hours before the green flag, he started in the second row of the main and by the first lap was already leading the race putting on a very impressive show for the crowd that included many of his family and friends.  “I am so excited to win this race!  Not only is it a win for me and my core sponsors including Rubicon Express, Nitto Tires and PSC Steering, but also to be able to share it with all my family and friends at a local to home track is awesome!” said Jason Scherer, driver of the Rubicon Express #76 car at the awards ceremony on Saturday evening.  “The track was a lot of fun and I am really excited to be able to come back to this new venue.  Not only is it great racing, but it is nice to be close to home!”

  • Jason Scherer Man Powers Every Rock Trail Twice at 2013 King of the Hammers

    Jason Scherer KOH 2013 (1)DANVILLE, CA   FEBRUARY 15, 2013   Jason Scherer started on the pole position at the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers presented by Nitto Tires, proceeded directly to Back Door where he one-shotted the obstacle perfectly and after regaining positions was 4th through the RM38 remote pit. From there it was a battle of man over machine.  “It was absolutely without a doubt the hardest thing I have every done to drive every rock trail twice without power steering,” said the 2009 King Jason Scherer who has finished in the top 20 for 4 consecutive years.  “I finished 21st with 25 minutes to go, my arms and shoulders brutally beaten and cold as hell, but I didn’t give up.”  (more…)

  • Jason Scherer Will Start on Pole Position of 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers

    Scherer KOH13 Qualify 1DANVILLE, CA   FEBRUARY 7, 2013   Jason Scherer will be starting first at the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers after a very impressive time of 3:19:07 during his qualifying run on Wednesday.  “That was super fun.  The Rubicon Express Nitto car is perfect for King of the Hammers and we are ready for the race.  We know the pace and the strategy we need to win.  Now it’s time to execute our game plan!”

    He was just over 5 seconds faster than Shannon Campbell who will sit beside him as the very first green flag drops.  Both drivers are in single seat IFS cars.  (more…)

  • Jason Scherer Gets Redemption At 4Wheel Parts Qualifying Rounds

    scherer-kohFebruary 7, 2012 (Johnson Valley, CA) – After the dust settled on two days of qualifying for the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers, 2009 champion Jason Scherer posted the fastest time in the No. 76 Rubicon Express /  Nitto Tire car. Last year Scherer arrived on the lake bed with a brand new single seat race car and suffered in qualifying as a result, having to get out of the car and stack rocks in order to complete the qualifying course.  After a year of fine tuning and fresh off a victory at the PSC Brawl at Blackwell Nitto Tire Nationals, it is clear that Scherer has all of the bugs worked out.  “That was incredibly fun!  The Rubicon Express / Nitto car is perfect for KOH and we are ready for the race.  We know the pace and the strategy we need to win.  Now it’s time to execute our game plan.”  Scherer commented.   • Scherer Breaks Through at PSC Brawl in Blackwell

    November 10th, 2012 – Blackwell, TX: The Nitto Tire National Championship Series came to a finale last weekend  at the PSC Brawl in Blackwell, Texas. The race was held at Texana Ranch and brought together the top 50 Ultra4 drivers from the 4WD Hardware Eastern Regional Series and the Trail-Gear Western Regional Series in a head to head race that had fans on the edge of their seat. The top four finishers completed the 176 miles within 4 minutes of each other with third place Chris Hoyt and fourth place Mike Colville coming in literally nose to tail across the finish line.
