  • Superlift Releases 2012 JK 2″ & 4″ Lift Kits With Fox Racing Shox

West Monroe, LA – Superlift’s 2″ and 4″ JK kits now cover 2012 models. Because the new engine configuration causes the stock front driveshaft to bind at full droop on lifted JKs, Superlift includes a front limiting strap. The single limiting strap’s positioning is toward the axle’s center, so very little articulation is lost. Install an aftermarket CV-style driveshaft then remove the strap to restore full travel. Also new is a third shock option: The Fox 2.0 Performance Series IFP (shown) joins the existing base Superide twin-tubes and premium SS monotubes by Bilstein. Superlift’s 4″ kit uses application-specific pre-set coil springs to clear up to 35×12.50 tires with no other modifications. An adjustable front track bar is included. A weld-on relocation bracket is standard for the rear track bar; a bolt-on bracket is also available. Use Superlift’s 2″ coil spacer lift kit to economically fit 33×12.50 tires. Many options and upgrades are available.

  • Ansani Designs New Composite Jeep Hood Is 1970s-Retro

Ansani Designs is now shipping the follow-up to its award-winning JK Wrangler Induction Hood. The new “K5” version extends the factory lines with a higher, broader, more muscular profile inspired by the classic Chevy Blazer. Ansani Designs created the new hood in response to enthusiast requests for a lighter-weight hood that increases engine-compartment space. A uni-directional fiberglass manufacturing process provides about a 50 percent weight savings while still keeping the hood rigid at highway speeds. Factory hardware is reused, and the K5 JK Hood ships in a primer-ready gelcoat finish.

  • 2012 Jeep Wrangler – NEW Pentastar Motor Changes Everything!

AUGUST 22, 2011: The 2012 Jeep Wrangler is hitting the dealerships now, but unless you take the test drive, you may not immediately notice the difference from the 2011.  The 2012 Wrangler is now powered by the aluminum block 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and that alone is an improvement worth noting.  Horsepower?  40% more, now at 285 hp.  Torque?  10% more, now at 260 lb.-ft.   Match this great powerplant with either the A580 5-speed Automatic or the NSG 370 6-speed Manual and the result is summed up in one word: Fun…simply put, the power made the 2012 Wrangler fun to drive.

  • JKS Sector Support Prevents Steering Box Failures

Reinforcement kit from JKS Manufacturing stabilizes steering box shaft and strengthens chassis on 2007+ Wrangler JKs

Alliance, NE – July 2011: Large diameter tires and hydraulic-assist steering can play havoc on Wrangler JK models if the front track bar and steering box are not reinforced. The factory track bar mount on the chassis is particularly vulnerable to extreme forces. Crank on the steering wheel too hard and you risk tearing the OE mount completely off of the frame.

Unfortunately, the output shaft on the steering box is even more troublesome. The internal support bearings are poorly positioned and notorious for wearing out very quickly. Some indicators include a noticeable “clunk” noise and excessive play in the steering wheel. And since the OE steering box is not serviceable, the only option is to replace the entire assembly.
