Simi Valley, CA – January 31, 2012 – This years running of the King of the Hammers adds a new element of competition with the Smittybilt Everyman’s Challenge. The Everyman’s Challenge will feature two classes of racing and allow racers with production based vehicles a place to race and be competitive. Being a Jeep based manufacturer and the official suspension of the Ultra4 series we felt it was only appropriate to field a competitor in each class. (more…)

Torchmate racing prepares for the 2012 King of the Hammers with a full schedule of activities
Over the next week off-road enthusiasts from around the globe will converge on the tiny desert hamlet of Johnson Valley California. The sparsely populated community swells to over 20,000 when the annual pilgrimage of off roaders descends on Means dry lakebed for the King of the Hammers event. More than just a race, the weeklong event offers a multitude of entertainment options for those who like to test the merit of their machines, and driving ability over some of the harshest terrain known to man. TJ Flores has a reputation for doing more with less in the desert, regularly pushing his Class 1 car to victories in Best In The Desert and SNORE races ahead of teams with more horsepower and funding. Torchmate Racing announces unique campaign at the 2012 Griffin King of the Hammers to benefit OHV access issues
Torchmate CNC Cutting systems, and its parent company Lincoln Electric will continue Torchmate‘s history of involvement in the King of the Hammers with the introduction of “The Lincoln Experience”. The partnership of Lincoln electric welders and the Torchmate CNC cutting system presents a opportunity to explore the equipment’s full potential by offering attendees of the event a chance to participate in building a hands on interactive art project tailored to The King of the Hammers event. Demonstrations of the Torchmate machines will take place the entire week of the event with Torchmate CNC machines and technicians available to assist race teams who need specialized parts replicated.
