    SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA   JANUARY 31, 2011  –  The Crowley Off-Road Racing Team will be driving the Monster Energy Kawasaki Teryx in the Pit Bull Tires UTV Race at the Griffin King of the Hammers Thursday February 10, 2011 at Johnson Valley, CA.  “We have competed in this race since its inception, and I am looking forward to another challenge.  Adding more rock obstacles to the desert course really makes it where we have to work at getting to the finish line,” said driver of record Jon Crowley who has finished every year.   • Torchmate Racing Team Hits King of the Hammers With $500 Off 2×2 CNC Tables

    RENO, NV     JANUARY 27, 2011   The Torchmate Racing team taking on the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers includes championship drivers JT Taylor, Jesse Haines, Brad Lovell and Roger Lovell.  Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems will be running tables the entire week of the event, with the ability to purchase on the lakebed at 4 Wheel Parts at a special price $500 off the 2×2 CNC Machine and onsite financing.  “I am really excited about the new relationship between Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems and 4 Wheel Parts.  The response to our latest Torchmate 2×2 CNC Prototyping System has been overwhelming,” said owner of Torchmate Bill Kunz.  “The partnership with 4 Wheel Parts is going to allow us to get the word out that CNC plasma cutting and routing technology is available to everyone, not only the fabricating elite.” (more…)

  • Big Ugly 2.0 has Successful Debut at The Hammers

    Kevin Sacalas of Big Ugly Racing unveiled his new Ultra4 Race Car, “Big Ugly 2.0” out at the Hammers this weekend in preparation for the 2011 King of the Hammers race being held February 11th.  This is the 2nd Ultra4 car designed and fabricated entirely by Sacalas. His first Ultra4 car which fans affectionately named “Big Ugly” had several impressive podium finishes including 1st place in the 2009 BiTD Vegas to Reno, 2nd place in Silver State 300 and a 3rd place finish in the King of the Hammers Grand Slam of Offroad Racing series.   • King of the Hammers Team Challenge – Best Prepared Trail Rig

    Applications Due by Tuesday Feb. 8th  – OPEN to PUBLIC

    EVENT: Wednesday Feb. 9th 6pm, Main Stage Hammer Town.

    HOSTED by Del Albright, BlueRibbon Coalition Ambassador; Cal4 EA Coordinator; Access Army Grand Poobah

    5 teams will be selected to participate.  4×4’s and Side-x-Side (UTV) rigs. Any team of up to four (4) folks can compete.  It’s all for fun and a little fame, with a cool trophy from Raceline Wheels for the winning team.  Also, several businesses have stepped up to provide swag, goodies, and freebies to participants and the audience.   • Barry Beadle Starts in Second Row of 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers

    GRANBURY, TX    JANUARY 18, 2011:  The Rock Beadle Team, competing for the third year in a row, drew the 4th starting position for the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers, putting them in the second row to get the checkered flag.  “I couldn’t even believe it!  When I was watching the show I thought maybe they didn’t get my entry form.  I even asked my wife if she had sent it in!” exclaimed Barry Beadle.  “It is pretty dang exciting to be starting in the second row.  I couldn’t sleep that night.” (more…)
