  • Lucas Murphy 15th Starter of 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers

    NORTH EASTON, MA      JANUARY 11, 2011:   Lucas Murphy will be the 15th Ultra4 car off the line at the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers February 11, 2011.  Lucas Murphy qualified for the 2011 King of the Hammers at the Rausch Creek Qualifier in May, raced and won the Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch International Endurance Race, placed 4th overall in the International Endurance Series (IEC) and won the RCRocs Rock Race Series in 2010.   • Team GenRight Invites you to King Of the Hammers 2011

    Can you believe we’re only a month away from King of the Hammers 2011?  As previously announced, Kevin Sacalas of Big Ugly Racing and Tony Pellegrino of GenRight Offroad have combined forces for the 2011 Ultra4 season as Team GenRight. The two racers recently spent some time out in Johnson Valley preparing for KOH and created a video to answer questions for new King of the Hammers fans about the race, Johnson Valley and Ultra4 Racing.   • The 4405 “land-use buggy” races for access at the famed King of the Hammers race

    Driver Travis Carpenter asks people to “Pledge per mile made”

    For the second year in a row, Rock Zombie 4×4 club member Travis Carpenter of the 4405 “land-use” team is racing in the famed King of the Hammers off-road race on February 11th to generate funds for land-use. Held by HammerKing Productions (www.kingofthehammers.com) and billed as the toughest off-road competition in the United States, the King of the Hammers is a mix of desert racing and hardcore rock crawling. The grueling 120 mile long course is split into two laps, and many competitors are not even able to finish the race. In only its 5th year, attendance at the race is expected to draw well over 30,000 people to the southern California desert.

    The 4405 “Land-use” team is asking people to make a “Pledge per mile made” by Travis Carpenter to the Blue Ribbon Coalition. Individuals and companies may make a pledge at www.sharetrails.org/4405.  The amount of the final donations will depend on how far Travis is able to travel in the event.     Emmitsburg, MD December 30, 2010- Bigelow Motorsports driver and owner Doug Bigelow announced today it would have the full support of Bulldog Winch as the title sponsor for the  teams race effort in Johnson Valley, CA for the February 2011 King of the Hammers race. “I am very excited to have Bulldog Winch and Bob and Christine Horn back as the title sponsor for our 2011 King of the Hammers race effort. The last time Bigelow Motorsports and Bulldog Winch got together for a title sponsorship opportunity we did great things together,” announced driver Doug Bigelow. “Our team and Bulldog Winch have had the opportunity to work together for going on 4 years now. From pit logistics, product testing to last minute details to cooking for the team at the big race, Bulldog Winch and more importantly Bob Horn, has come through for our team when we needed it. I’m looking for a very successful 2011 King of the Hammers race and with Bulldog Winch in our corner once again and signed on as the title sponsor I do not see why we cannot make that happen,” Bigelow also noted.   • 4405 Land Use Team awarded Merit Entry into the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers

    Driver Travis Carpenter will “Race for Access” once again with fundraiser for the Blue Ribbon Coalition

    Driver Travis Carpenter and the Ultra4 4405 Land Use rig have been awarded a “Merit Entry” by Hammerking Productions into the famed 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers race.  The merit entry is based on the team’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible land use, raise awareness of land use issues, and to generate funds, volunteers and memberships for various land use organizations.

    Billed as the “Land Use” buggy, its land use outreach program has had the 4405 on near constant display since its inception in 2008. The vehicle has been seen in many magazines, on trails all over the West Coast, in parades, on trail work parties, and at many schools and businesses. It is used as a centerpiece to talk about responsible OHV use and to promote the sport as a whole. (more…)
