  • King Shocks Raffle to Benefit Fast-Aid at KOH

King Shocks will be holding a raffle at 8:00pm in the Griffin lounge at the 2011 King of the Hammers Race. The proceeds of the raffle will be going to Fast-Aid, an organization that helps injured racers and their families and holds basic first aid training for teams and individuals. Many of us in the offroad community spend long hours in remote areas. Having a team member who can administer basic first aid and CPR should tragedy strike could make the difference between life or death. This raffle would not be possible without the hard work done by Fast-Aid and the generous support from the following companies in the offroad community who have donated so far.

  • Letner Racing takes SCORE class 1 championship on King shocks

    King Letner Photo

King Shocks salutes the perseverance and hard charging driving style of Letner Racing’s Kory Halopoff and Harley Letner. They battled tough competitors all year long on their way to winning the 2010 SCORE, unlimited Class 1 championship. In order to win, the Letner Racing team had to overcome adversity and finish the last race of the season, a brutal, Baja 1000 that travelled the length of the peninsula. “Race wins are great, said Harley Letner, but championships are written in the history books.” Letner Racing is no stranger to winning; the family has a history of motorsports excellence that includes land speed racing, stock cars, drag boats, Shortcourse and off-road competition that spans four generations. Letner racing has worked with King Shocks product development engineers since the company was founded, testing the newest designs. They used King’s latest Pure Race, damping technology to tap every ounce of suspension performance out of their class 1 championship winning cars. Everyone at King Shocks is especially proud that they won while decked out in the special King blue paint scheme. Considering the experience gained over decades of racing with the talent of drivers Kory and Harley, Letner racing will no doubt continue their impressive winning ways for years to come.

  • King Shocks releases a revolutionary new internal bypass shock (IBP)

King Shocks has a brand new design that packs the versatility and control of a bypass shock in a compact durable package. The Internal Bypass (IBP) has both velocity and position sensitive valving in a unique dual piston, monotube design. The secondary valving allows fluid to bypass the primary piston through ports into the hollow shaft. As the shaft moves into the shock body it engages a tapered metering rod that closes the secondary ports forcing the fluid entirely through the primary valving.

    King Internal Bypass IBP

The IBP gives you a supple ride at slower speeds on pavement or smooth dirt and progressively firmer damping without bottoming out when you’re hitting larger bumps at higher speeds. With no external bypass tubes to get in the way you can mount a larger diameter shock in tight confines like production based trucks and SUV’s. The larger the pistons diameter, the greater damping force it can generate. The IBP can be built in a smooth body style for cars with existing springs or as a coilover to suspend the vehicle and provide damping.  The IBP is another example of King Shock’s constant efforts to provide you with the most durable and best performing products available. Nothing rides like a King.

The King, IBP internal bypass shock will be available for 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, OEM performance series and UTV applications.
