Colorado Springs, CO 2/10/15 – We have prepared for months, traveled for thousands of miles, and begged or borrowed our way to the start line of King of the Hammers – the ultimate extreme desert race. This is it, THE RACE that defines the sport. The struggle and focus is the same for every one of 130 KOH teams. As we inch forward and wait our turn for the green flag there is something however, that sets us apart. We have already raced. We have already faced the agony of mechanical failure in the previous days Legends class. We lead, we broke, and we thrashed to make overnight repairs. Where adrenaline is boiling over in trucks all around us, we groggily wait our turn. Our adrenaline spent the day before, we are happily immune to the last minute panic. (more…)

JT Taylor Recognized as Only Racer to Take All 8 Green Flags for King of the Hammers
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO FEBRUARY 12, 2014 Friday February 7thmarked the 8th green flag of the now Internationally known Griffin King of the Hammers. JT Taylor is the only racer on the lakebed that can boast seeing all 8 green flags, and has driven the same car at 7 of the 8 events, with a 12thplace finish in 2013. “I am really surprised how time flies, to say that the first race we did was 8 years ago is crazy,” JT said in astonishment. “We just went out and had fun the first time, and I am still doing the same. My car is the original ‘Ol Blue with some modifications changing to King Shocks and BFGoodrich Tires along the way. Warn Industries Sweeps Podiums at 2014 King of the Hammers
Clackamas, OR (2/14/14) — Warn Industries winches are clearly the winch of choice for the top performers at the 2014 Griffin King of the Hammers presented by Nitto Tires. A total of $2900 will be paid out to the winners of Friday’s Griffin King of the Hammers race, Thursday’s Smittybilt Every Man Challenge race and Wednesday’s UTV race.“I have always run WARN and have never run anything else. I probably own 10 of them between all my different cars,” said Loren Healy, the current 2014 King.

Four Corners 4×4 Completes 2014 Every Man Challenge
DURANGO, CO – Jason Kaminsky and Richard Jenkins with Four Corners 4×4 recently returned from their participation in the Smittybilt Every Man Challenge Ultra4 Stock Class endurance race held on February 6th. The event took place at the Johnson Valley OHV Area in California’s Mojave Desert. After a random 6 draw started Kaminsky and Jenkins at the rear of the field in 22nd position, they maneuvered through the pack to finish 10th in an elapsed time of 8 hours 59 minutes. Due to the difficulty of the course, fewer than half of the racers completed the course in the allotted time limit of ten hours. Declared as the hardest one-day off road endurance race in the world, the course consisted of approximately 120 miles of high-speed desert segments across sand washes, washboard roads, dry lakebeds and 11 of the country’s most challenging rock crawling trails.
