  • Robby Woods Earns A Pair of Podium Finishes At Glen Helen Raceway

    Robby Woods came to Glen Helen Raceway last weekend with a score to settle.  While Woods currently resides in the top ten in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) premier Pro2 Unlimited class, his first visit to historic Glen Helen Raceway this season did not meet his demanding expectations.  LOORRS’ return to Glen Helen started on Friday with Woods qualifying third amongst 15 of the best off-road racers on the planet.  When he was not on the track, Robby Woods was busy signing autographed posters and handing out free t-shirts to fans.  When the Pro2 Unlimited trucks took the green flag Saturday under the night lights, the crowd was a sea of blue Dethrone Royalty shirts cheering for Woods and his No. 99 Lucas Slick Mist / Superchips Chevrolet.

    San Bernardino, Calif. – (Aug. 15, 2011) – Team General Tire’s unstoppable off-road force is at it again, tearing up the Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino during Round 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series Aug. 6 and 7. Young-gun Dawson Kirchner topped the podium in Super Lite on Saturday, with teammates Robby Woods taking 2nd in Pro 2, Carl Renezeder grabbing 2nd in Pro 4 and Quentin Tucker taking home 2nd in Limited Buggy. On Sunday, Renezeder walked away with 3rd in Pro 4, Woods took 2nd in Pro 2 and Kirchner returned to the podium to take 3rd in Super Lite. (more…)

    King Shocks racer Robby Woods left Glen Helen raceway in San Bernardino, California with a matching set of 2nd place trophies after rounds 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing series. Robby races in the Pro-2 class for unlimited, two wheel drive trucks against some of the best drivers the sport has ever seen including King Shocks teammate and 7 time champion Carl Renezeder. Robby’s success is a welcomed sight to many fans and even a few fellow competitors who love to root for the underdog. Only a few years ago, Robby made a commitment to himself that he would design and build his own Pro-2 race truck and hit the track in what is arguably one of the most intense and challenging forms of racing on the planet.     FULLERTON, CA (Aug. 9, 2011) – Yokohama Tire Corporation collected two first-place victories in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS) event, August 7 at Glen Helen Raceway near San Bernardino, California. Longtime Yokohama-sponsored racer Cameron Steele captured his first Lucas Oil race of the season in the Pro Lite Class, as did Chad George, who took the title in the Super Lites Class.   • A Rollercoaster Weekend For ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren

     In his quest to win his fourth consecutive Pro2 title, ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren knew that he needed a big weekend at Glen Helen Raceway.  While Rob tasted the thrill of victory on Saturday, he also felt the agony of defeat the following day.  On Saturday Rob Mac not only dominated at Glen Helen, he also learned that he will be inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame this year and will join the ranks of fellow racing legends such as Walker Evans and Ivan Stewart.  “I am honored to be included in the company of men who are heroes and mentors in the sport,” the humble MacCachren stated emotionally after the announcement.  MacCachren’s induction ceremony will be held at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum at the Pomona, California Fairgrounds during the weekend of the Lucas Oil Off Road Expo in October.  SCORE International held their drawing for the Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions on Saturday as well, and Rob MacCachren learned that he drew the number one starting position.  Unfortunately there was nowhere to go but down, as MacCachren experienced on Sunday.
