ROCKSTAR Energy Drink's Rob MacCachren Claims The Overall Victory At The MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 For The Second Year In A Row
Luck may have allowed Rob MacCachren the top starting position for this past weekend’s 26th annual MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250, but it was Rob’s impressive driving skills and the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety team that put him at the finish line first. Any advantage that MacCachren was hoping to capitalize on by starting out front was taken away by Race Mile 4 when a spectator constructed booby trap resulted in a flat tire that let six competitors pass while MacCachren’s co-driver, Cisco Bio, was performing the tire swap. So much for clean air! It took 50 miles for the patient veteran to regain five of those positions in his No. 20 Jimco-built Trophy Truck campaigned under the MasterCraft Racing banner with the support of Rockstar Energy Drink, BFGoodrich Tires and Fox Racing Shox. Rob MacCachren Claims the Overall Victory at SCORE's Second Round of Racing at the Laughlin Desert Challenge
The No. 20 Rockstar Energy Drink / BFGoodrich Tires Driver sits Second in SCORE Points
With 190 career victories and 20 series championships, Rob MacCachren has demonstrated that you cannot build a reputation on what you are going to do, but instead what you have already done. Given MacCachren’s impressive resume of successes and extensive collection of trophies, it would be difficult for anyone to imagine that he has anything left to prove – except maybe to himself. Adding another trophy and victory to his collection during the second round of SCORE International racing this past weekend, Rob MacCachren once again proved to himself and others he is a force to be reckoned with. MasterCraft Racing’s Robbie Pierce and Rob MacCachren Double Down at the 2012 Laughlin Desert Challenge
It has been said, “a journey is measured in friends and not in miles.” For anyone who races, it can be measured in both and this has certainly been the case for MasterCraft Racing’s Robbie Pierce and Rob MacCachren. What began as a serendipitous venture at SCORE’s 2009 Primm 300 race has evolved into a top-level racing partnership that, like anything worth doing, has solidified the respect and friendship of two teammates and had it’s share of victories, losses, heartbreaks and truly gratifying moments. Black Flags Do Not Console ROCKSTAR Energy Drink Driver Rob MacCachren In Short Course Finale
Rob MacCachren came to Firebird International Raceway for the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) season finale looking to add a sixth win in the 15 round series. He qualified third on Friday, putting him on the second row for Saturday’s last points race of the season. Rob Mac was out front in the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck and set the fast lap for the race. He was well on his way to yet another victory when Brian Deegan dove under MacCachren in Turn 3 late in the race and put Rob on his roof. Deegan was black flagged for his actions and moved to the back of the pack, but the damage had been done and Rob limped around the track to finish mid-pack. Rob Mac’s five victories in Pro2 Unlimited are more than any other competitor, but incidents like Saturday’s resulted in some uneven finishes this season that caused MacCachren to finish second in points. ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren Heads to Phoenix for Short Course Finale
At the end of another year of racing, Rob MacCachren has racked up five wins in fourteen rounds of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS). Perhaps even more impressive is that LOORRS is only one of three series that MacCachren competes in. He was also victorious at three TRAXXAS The Off Road Championship (TORC) races and had two wins (in only five races) in SCORE desert racing. Still, perhaps the most important race of the year is yet to come. “This is the biggest pay day in short course,” MacCachren noted of the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup, “and I want my piece of it.” $30,000 is on the line as Rob pits the No. 1 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck not only against his normal Pro2 Unlimited competition, but the Pro4 Unlimited 4WD trucks are on the same course as well. MacCachren is no stranger to cup races, having won three Borg Warner Cups during his prestigious short course career. (more…) -
Rob MacCachren Wins The Battle Against Baja But Loses The War For The Season Title
While the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 was only 692 miles long this year, none of those miles came easy for any team. “In Baja you don’t necessarily race against each other,” explained five time Baja 1000 winner Rob MacCachren, “you race against Baja itself.” After conquering San Felipe to win both SCORE races there earlier this season, the notorious whoops finally got their revenge when the No. 20 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / MasterCraft Safety / BFGoodrich Tires Trophy Truck experienced suspension component failure that additionally took out the power steering at Race Mile 458. At that time Rob Mac was fourth physically on course and chasing his first SCORE season championship as driver of record after assisting so many other teams in the past as a hired gun. (more…)
