  • Roger Norman Will Battle for SCORE Trophy Truck Season Title

RENO, NV     JANUARY 10, 2011  – Roger Norman is dedicating the 2011 season to winning the SCORE Championship in the Norman Motorsports Crystal Bay Casino Trophy Truck.  “We had two choices, either we compete in all the ‘biggest races’, or we run for the SCORE championship,” said Roger Norman.  “We decided as a team that we did all the ‘big races’ last year, and that we would like to win a championship this year.”

The very first SCORE race of the season is the Laughlin Desert Challenge this weekend in Laughlin, Nevada.  “I see this race as harder to finish than the Baja 1000 because it is a rough 6.25 mile course that tears up the equipment very easily and we barley have time to change a flat, much less fix anything,” commented Norman. Norman will be 15th to qualify on Friday for starting position, 29 Trophy Trucks are currently entered.  Jake Velasco, recently named Norman Motorsports Team Manager, will be co-driving with Norman to assist with quick and immediate fixes on the truck. King Letner Photo

King Shocks salutes the perseverance and hard charging driving style of Letner Racing’s Kory Halopoff and Harley Letner. They battled tough competitors all year long on their way to winning the 2010 SCORE, unlimited Class 1 championship. In order to win, the Letner Racing team had to overcome adversity and finish the last race of the season, a brutal, Baja 1000 that travelled the length of the peninsula. “Race wins are great, said Harley Letner, but championships are written in the history books.” Letner Racing is no stranger to winning; the family has a history of motorsports excellence that includes land speed racing, stock cars, drag boats, Shortcourse and off-road competition that spans four generations. Letner racing has worked with King Shocks product development engineers since the company was founded, testing the newest designs. They used King’s latest Pure Race, damping technology to tap every ounce of suspension performance out of their class 1 championship winning cars. Everyone at King Shocks is especially proud that they won while decked out in the special King blue paint scheme. Considering the experience gained over decades of racing with the talent of drivers Kory and Harley, Letner racing will no doubt continue their impressive winning ways for years to come.
