North Ram River AdventureThe Gap Trail
The last section of trail before the gap got very narrow as it wound through the trees.
There was one final, very lengthy, stream we had to go up. The water was practically icy cold.
Out of the stream we came into the gap itself. The mountains easily dwarfed the 4x4s.
At this point we were right at the top of the timberline. This is actually under 8,000 feet.
The gap was the end of the trail, even though, to me, it looked like the beginning of some great hardcore stuff!
We spent a little bit of time admiring nature's handywork and rock carving.
Steve spends a few minutes taking his TJ over some fun ledges.
This was really the first spot where we came upon Colorado-like broken shale areas. Definitely not a place for wimpy tire sidewalls.
