GEARWRENCH® INTRODUCES NEW INDEXING DOUBLE BOX RATCHETING WRENCH AT SEMA 2010

Expanded Hand Tool Line Also Includes Impact Sockets and “XL” Tool Storage Options

LAS VEGAS (November 2, 2010) – GearWrench®, a premier hand tool brand from Apex Tool Group, today announced the launch of the Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench at the 2010 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. The new Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench combines the benefits of a specialty obstruction wrench with the length and power of a GearBox ratcheting wrench. In addition, GearWrench will showcase its new line of impact sockets and the “XL” line of professional tool storage.

“The annual SEMA Show provides a great forum for us to speak to those who use GearWrench tools everyday,” said Ray Smith, vice president of professional marketing for Apex Tool Group. “The conversations we have in the booth energize us and provide useful feedback for future tool innovations. The new Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench is a great example of a tool that was developed directly from end user input . Two ratcheting box ends index and lock into position, saving technicians time and eliminating the need to switch wrenches while working on fasteners that are difficult to access.”

Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench

The new Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench features an extra long, forged steel beam with indexing joints at each end that enable each ratcheting box end to pivot more than 180 degrees. With 13 locking positions, the Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench allows technicians to get around obstructions and tight corners, or leave the joint unlocked and use a “piston” action to remove or tighten a fastener even more quickly. The Indexing Double Box Ratcheting Wrench is available in six metric size combinations including 8 x 10mm, 11 x 12mm, 13 x 14mm, 15 x 16mm, 17 x 18mm and 19 x 21mm and is sold separately or as a six-piece set.

Impact Sockets

Earlier this year, the GearWrench line was expanded to include impact sockets ranging from 1/4-inch to 3/4-inch drive as well as standard, deep, universal and hex bit impact styles designed for heavy duty, high torque applications to improve productivity in the shop.

Tool Storage

The new GearWrench XL series storage solutions feature the “Trigger Lock” design, allowing drawers to lock when closed and unlock with a natural pull operation, as well as single and double ball bearing slides, molded side handles, gas shock lids, and barrel lock systems. Several configurations are available to meet almost any need including, carts, top chests and roller cabinets.

The full line of GearWrench hand tools is available in metric and SAE sizes through tool distributors and mobile tool dealers nationwide. For more information, visit www.gearwrench.com.
