WEDNESDAY, April 8

We decided that since we were scheduled to run Poison Spider Mesa today and Gold Bar Rim on Friday, that we'd just do Golden Spike instead, which encompasses Poison Spider and Gold Bar, but includes an extra 4+ course, which is one of the most difficult trails around.

The Line Up
We met up with our friend Will that ran with us earlier in the week and some new friends from Edmonton, Alberta. We had about 7 vehicles in the group. 3 TJ's, 2 YJ's, an FJ-40 and a '48 Willys. There were also a few other groups heading out at the same time.

Muddy
There are plenty of steep steps to fight your way up.

Scrambler
A Scrambler passed through at one point in another group.

TX
Lots of good size rocks are thrown around on the trail for good measure.

MORE!!!

Muddy
Poison Spider is mostly made up of red sand and sandstone. There is a little bit of slickrock, as well. The trail is rockier and rougher than other trails in Moab.

Muddy
Muddy's 35's really proved an advantage with getting down the wet rock ledges.

Scrambler TJ
We also saw a Scrambler with a TJ front clip!

TX
Lots of good size rocks are thrown around on the trail for good measure.

Steve
Here's Steve Yacucha of Edmonton, Alberta with his TJ.
