FALLON, NV MAY 5, 2010: Jeff Ward, the 2010 Octane Fest Grand Marshall, has the longest career of elite motocross riders in history winning every major American AMA Motocross and Supercross title. KTM and Carson Motorsports presents NMXD Motocross, Tuff-Cross (Arena Enduro Racing) and Quad Wars brought to you by Fly Racing at this years Octane Fest. These events are in addition to a Speed Technologies SuperLite Truck Invitational, Rock Crawling, TUFF-CUP Pro Arena Rock Racing, Tuff-Truck, Demolition Derby, Monster Ride trucks, Mud Drags, and the 2nd Annual Mad Metal Truck Show & Shine all happening at the Fallon Fairgrounds. In addition, the NHRA Lucas Oil Division 7 Series will be at the Top Gun Raceway, Hurricams Car Show will take over Oats Park and IMCA Dirt Track Racing will be at Rattlesnake Raceway rounding out a full weekend of racing.
The NMXD Triple Crown Motocross Series will be held on the freshly built Outdoor Motocross track at the Fallon Fairgrounds that has been laid out to accommodate all skill levels. There are youth classes all the way up to a $1,000 Pro Purse. The track will be active all weekend with a Saturday practice from 9am-2pm and a full day of racing scheduled for Sunday. “We have already had a weekend race on this new track, made a few minor adjustments, and can say it is by far one of the best tracks in Northern Nevada to ride on,” commented Octane Fest promoter and track designer Ty Erquiaga.
In the main arena on Saturday night Tuff-Cross will be a headliner with a $2,000 pro purse on the line. Tuff-Cross is a version of arena enduro racing that uses rocks, tires, and logs as obstacles that the pros will have to attack and cross over before they hit some of the same track the SuperLite Trucks will use. It will be an exhilarating race to watch!
On Friday night, Quad Wars will be under the lights in the main arena using the very fast GP style track that the SuperLites trucks will run on Saturday night. There is a $500 purse to the winner and trophies will be specially cut by a Torchmate CNC machine. “I think this will be a very fast course for the Quad riders to take on. There are several high speed table top jumps and huge sweeping berms,” said Erquiaga.
The racing action is just a start to the weekend. There will be a vendor show, a show and shine and a motorsports swap meet. This is an event that you can bring the whole family out to enjoy. To top the evenings off, join Pirate4x4 in the Saloon for a cold Coors Light and an after party with music you can dance to.
Competitors are encouraged to sign up for the different sanctioned events. Additional information and Entry Forms can be found on the Octane Fest website. CalROCS will be hosting the Rock Crawling, NMXD will be hosting the Tuff Cross and Motocross event, and Speed Technologies will feature the SuperLite Invitational on Saturday night. Additional events will be hosted by Octane Fest presented by the Northern Nevada Toyota Dealers.
Octane Fest is the largest multi-discipline motor sport event in Northern Nevada. Tickets for the event are $20 for the weekend Jamboree Pass (fairgrounds only), or day passes for the fairgrounds are also available for $10/day. Top Gun Raceway tickets are $10 per day and include pit passes. There is no admission for the Hurricams Car Show.
