  • RockCrawler RZR install: MotoAlliance Viper EX4000 winch

DSC_1390 (Small)MotoAlliance has built a nice reputation in the UTV/ATV market for their affordable yet high-quality winches…add on the two year warranty that comes stock with their Elite series, and you’ve got a great value.  But why add the winch so soon?  It may not appear to be a high priority, but bigger tires and more suspension only means you are stuck further into the boonies…self-recovery can be a requirement.

The Viper Elite EX4000 model was chosen for the synthetic line, remote control, snatch block and aluminum hawse…all included in the package.  4000# should be plenty for a 1000# RZR, and the snatch block is right there should more power be needed. (more…)

  • Kevin Yoder Takes More Checkered Flags in his Fast Red Rock Buggy

GRASS VALLEY, CA     MAY 14, 2010    Kevin Yoder has had an exceptional start to the 2010 racing season.  His “fast red” PitBull Tires Rock Buggy made its debut on PowerBlock TV in front of 5million SpikeTV viewers just before he took on the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers finishing a very respectable 13th.  Yoder has already completed two short course VORRA races finishing 2nd in both, and finished 3rd at the BITD Bilek Racing Silver State 300, putting him in 2nd place in both the Grand Slam of Offroad Racing and VORRA series.  All of these successes have come within 3 months in the same barn built buggy that he has built and raced over the last five years. • All Terrain Research “Chassis Ribs”

DSC_1387 (Small)Another major recommended addition for a stock or LE model RZR are “Chassis Ribs” from All Terrain Research.  Like the previously installed “Chassis Bones,” these help prevent the RZR chassis from bending during jumping/landing by tying the rear suspension mounts together.

(Yes, you will jump your RZR…and yes, it is fun…don’t kid yourself!)

The install is simple and easy, and should take less than :30 minutes.  Tools required are a 15mm combination wrench, a 15mm socket and short extension, a floor jack to take the weight off the suspension, a hammer, a tapered drift and a pry bar….and that’s it.  Short but sweet.  I barely even got dirty. (barely, since walking into my shop usually requires a change of clothes, even if I don’t touch a thing) (more…)
