Rob MacCachren Makes It Three Victories In A Row In TORC Racing In Charlotte
Short course off road racing has its roots in the Midwest, but for the first time ever this weekend a race was held in the South, and it was dominated by a native of the West Coast. Charlotte Motor Speedway is in the heart of NASCAR country, where motorsports fans are accustomed to cars reaching speeds of 200 mph on pavement. Last weekend though, all of the action was on “The Dirt Track” as TRAXXAS brought The Off-Road Championship (TORC) to North Carolina. High Flyin’ Sacalas Beats King Campbell in Latest Ultra4 Race
July 19, 2011 –Tooele, UT: In what can only be described as the biggest upset of the 2011 Ultra4 Season, Team GenRight’s Kevin Sacalas overtook this year’s King of The Hammers winner and current Ultra4 Series leader, Shannon Campbell to claim the win at the American Rocksports Challenge held at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. Saturday’s race started off with more than 40 Ultra4 drivers competing in a new style of race that combined a rock-crawling obstacle course with a short course track. Throughout the day 44 drivers competed against each other in a series of 12 races until the top drivers remained.

Race Prep Racing Stays Consistent With a Solid Finish in Utah
July 21, 2011 – Tooele, UT: Richie Carter, driver of the 4474 Race Prep Racing car had another successful weekend, finishing the American Rock Sports Challenge at Miller Motorsports Parkin Tooele, Utah in 17th place. A weekend jeeper, Richie kept the car together, suffering no mechanical issues all weekend, and pushed his 230 horsepower motor to the limit on this brand new course. A combination of short course and man-made rock pile, the American Rock Sports Challenge proved a good event for the team and allowed Race Prep Racing to continue with their successful season of finishing without breaking, which has consistently landed them in the top half of the competition at every race this year. JKS Sector Support Prevents Steering Box Failures
Reinforcement kit from JKS Manufacturing stabilizes steering box shaft and strengthens chassis on 2007+ Wrangler JKs
Alliance, NE – July 2011: Large diameter tires and hydraulic-assist steering can play havoc on Wrangler JK models if the front track bar and steering box are not reinforced. The factory track bar mount on the chassis is particularly vulnerable to extreme forces. Crank on the steering wheel too hard and you risk tearing the OE mount completely off of the frame.Unfortunately, the output shaft on the steering box is even more troublesome. The internal support bearings are poorly positioned and notorious for wearing out very quickly. Some indicators include a noticeable “clunk” noise and excessive play in the steering wheel. And since the OE steering box is not serviceable, the only option is to replace the entire assembly. (more…)
