Robby Gordon will be competing on King shocks in the upcoming King of the Hammers race (KOH) in Johnson Valley, CA. on Friday, February 9th. KOH is one of the most challenging races on the planet. Competitors negotiate several of the toughest rock crawling trails in Johnson Valley known as “the Hammers” with sections of open desert thrown in on a 165 mile long course.Robby has already had great success competing in some of the most iconic races including the Baja 1000, the Indy 500 and the Dakar Rally so it’s probably natural to add KOH to his long list of accomplishments. Robby has excelled in many forms of racing but this will be his first attempt at rock crawling. Robby has teamed up with spotter Lance Clifford who has plenty of competition rock crawling knowledge and some desert racing experience as well.
King Shocks engineers Ross King and Ricky Koutzoukis are busy designing and building shocks for the former Torchmate, TTB car Robby will be driving. “King has been around forever,” said Robby Gordon “They have a great reputation and I am very familiar with their products. We run Kings on our huge Dakar support trucks and on my Alpha car. I know I can trust King to get my shocks right.”
Champions like Robby never compromise when it comes to competition, that’s why they choose King shocks. All King shocks are 100% made in the USA to strict precision tolerances from the finest billet alloy materials obtainable. King’s performance damping technology has been constantly refined in the heat of competition from Baja to Dakar and KOH too. When you ride on kings you’ll know, there really is a difference. Nothing rides like a King.
