    As the first solid axle model vehicle ARB Engineers tackled for skid plates, the Jeep Wrangler JK presented many new issues that needed to be overcome. Among those, the skid plates panel had to mount in such a way that it allowed full movement of the front axle and all of its locating components during suspension cycling. Next it had to allow for the many different suspension systems and aftermarket control arms available on the market for this popular vehicle. (more…)

  • FOX Rock Racing Pilot, Erik Miller, Earns the Title of "King" at 2012 King of the Hammers

    Erik Miller left 134 competitors in the dust to take his first King of the Hammers title—his nearest competitor was nearly thirteen minutes behind him.

FOX now has four of the five titles to its credit with Shannon Campbell’s two wins in 2008 and 2011, and Jason Scherer bringing home the win in 2009.

    Erik Miller crossed the finish line after 6 hours of controlled chaos besting second place by nearly thirteen minutes. Miller previously finished fifth in 2010, fourteenth in 2011. The win-defining choice that attributed to his 2012 victory was his decision to purchase a set of FOX Bypass shocks and Coil-overs from his local dealer. (more…)

    Tire maker teams up with a new partner in the ALMS GT Class and continues campaigns in ‘green racing’ with orange-oil infused tires in the GTC and GT3 Challenge series, plus off-road racing

Leading the strong line-up will be Yokohama’s campaign in the ALMS GT series featuring a new partnership with Alex Job Racing competing on a Lotus Evora. Yokohama will also once again continue to run in the GTC Class of the ALMS and in the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama with its eco racing slick – the ENV-R2 – as the series’ spec tire. General Tire will be the only tire manufacturer offering a cash contingency award for the regional series who will host races in California and Arizona.   • John Currie Wins Everyman Challenge at King of the Hammers John Currie Wins Everyman Challenge at King of the Hammers

    In a masterful display of driving skill, King Shocks racers John Currie and co-driver Gerald Lee won the inaugural Everyman Challenge held Sunday, Feb. 5th, 2012 at the King of the Hammers (KOH) event in Johnson Valley, Ca. Currie was competing against 18 other “stock” class competitors and also beat all 17 drivers in the much more altered “modified” class. Currie was running factory style coil springs on his Jeep, LJ and a single 2.5″ King “Smoothie” shock with a hose remote reservoir on each wheel. King’s smoothie shock is the most basic shock style in the King product line-up. What makes the King “Smoothie” stand out is the tunable internal valving, quality materials and strict precision tolerances that all contribute to the superior damping performance John Currie used to dominate the race. Currie finished a full 15 minutes ahead of the second place finisher who was driving a “modified” class rig. (more…)

The Best In The Desert (BITD) Series kicked off at the “Parker 425” over the weekend in Parker, Arizona and Team GT started the 2012 season off on the right foot. Following a 12th-place qualifying effort, Mikey Childress fought through a course that over time; became rougher and tougher to navigate. The California-native worked his way through traffic to finish third in class 1 and sixth overall with a time of 7:37:51. A solid start to the season for the Team GT veteran. (more…)
