  • A Rollercoaster Weekend For ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren

    Rob MacCachren is no stranger to the podium
     In his quest to win his fourth consecutive Pro2 title, ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren knew that he needed a big weekend at Glen Helen Raceway.  While Rob tasted the thrill of victory on Saturday, he also felt the agony of defeat the following day.  On Saturday Rob Mac not only dominated at Glen Helen, he also learned that he will be inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame this year and will join the ranks of fellow racing legends such as Walker Evans and Ivan Stewart.  “I am honored to be included in the company of men who are heroes and mentors in the sport,” the humble MacCachren stated emotionally after the announcement.  MacCachren’s induction ceremony will be held at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum at the Pomona, California Fairgrounds during the weekend of the Lucas Oil Off Road Expo in October.  SCORE International held their drawing for the Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions on Saturday as well, and Rob MacCachren learned that he drew the number one starting position.  Unfortunately there was nowhere to go but down, as MacCachren experienced on Sunday.     The grandstands were packed when the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) invaded historic Glen Helen Raceway earlier this season.  Dedicated race fans witnessed ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren set the fastest qualifying time for Saturday’s race and continue on to earn spots on the podium for both days in Pro2 Unlimited racing.  Now Rob Mac is headed back to Glen Helen for more LOORRS racing this weekend, and he is pulling out all of the stops to defend his 2010 season championship.  (more…)

  • RCV Ultimate CV Axles Help Kevin Sacalas Take the American Rocksports Challenge Victory

    July 19, 2011 –Tooele, UT:  Team GenRight’s Kevin Sacalas beat out this year’s King of The Hammers winner and current Ultra4 Series leader, Shannon Campbell to take the victory at the American Rocksports Challenge. The event took place at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. The American Rocksports Challenge combines a rock-crawling obstacle course with a short course track. A total of 40 Ultra4 drivers raced against each other in a progression of 12 races that narrowed down the field to the top placing drivers.  (more…)

  • Casey Currie and King Shocks out front in TORC Pro Light class

    Currie_Charlotte_3 The Traxxas, Torc series battle for Pro Light supremacy has been intense from the start. It’s clear that the competition will be spirited all season between several racers who have already distinguished themselves thus far. In the opening rounds at the Red Bud motocross track in Buchanan, Michigan King Shocks racer Samuel Hubinette earned back-to-back wins and the points lead right out of the box. At rounds 5 and 6 in Charlotte, North Carolina, it was King Shocks racer and defending Champion Casey Currie who would sweep the top spot on the podium in dominating fashion. (more…)
