  • Team General Tire storms Round 13 and 14 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series in Las Vegas with six podium finishes

    LAS VEGAS – (Nov. 10, 2010) – The beautiful sunny and clear Las Vegas weather didn’t disappoint this weekend, and neither did the action-packed Round 13 and 14 races of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Nov. 6 and 7.

    The Round 13 Pro 2 Unlimited race Saturday saw an intense neck-and-neck battle for first place between two members of Team General Tire, Carl Renezeder and Robby Woods.  Woods and Renezeder led the pack for the entirety of the race, creating a daunting gap for rest of the drivers to overcome. After several turns, Renezeder pushed hard to take first position from Woods in turn eight and held the lead till the race’s end, taking home first place with Woods in second. Woods celebrated his first podium finish in 2010. The extreme action continued at the Pro 4 race Saturday where Renezeder made his mark once more, stealing second in the final lap. (more…)

  • HOTTEST CAR, TRUCK AND 4×4-SUV ANNOUNCED AT THE 2010 SEMA SHOW

    LAS VEGAS (Nov. 2, 2010) – The inaugural SEMA Award was presented to the Chevrolet Camaro for the Hottest Car, the Ford F-Series for the Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler for the Hottest 4×4-SUV, during the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

    New car and truck buyers have a choice. The ability to accessorize a vehicle impacts the decision as to which vehicle to purchase. The SEMA Award identifies the most accessory-friendly new models.

  • FAST-Aid Assists Over 20 Families After MDR California 200 Truck Accident

    MESA, AZ – OCTOBER 26, 2010:  FAST-Aid is the non-profit organization that has assisted eight families of the deceased and the dozen plus injured after the MDR California 200 off-road accident two months ago on August 14, 2010. “In the first couple days, donations began rolling in at an unbelievable pace.  In the last 6 weeks FAST-Aid has raised $150,000 dollars from the off-road community to help those who are in need as a result of this tragic accident,” said Jared Tetzlaff, President of FAST-Aid at the recent Memorial unveiling. “I am honored to say that we have already been able to give back $50,000 of that in assistance to the families for various bills, medical expenses and everything else that goes with the loss or injury of a loved one.” (more…)

  • 4405 Land Use Team awarded Merit Entry into the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers

    Driver Travis Carpenter will “Race for Access” once again with fundraiser for the Blue Ribbon Coalition

    Driver Travis Carpenter and the Ultra4 4405 Land Use rig have been awarded a “Merit Entry” by Hammerking Productions into the famed 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers race.  The merit entry is based on the team’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible land use, raise awareness of land use issues, and to generate funds, volunteers and memberships for various land use organizations.

    Billed as the “Land Use” buggy, its land use outreach program has had the 4405 on near constant display since its inception in 2008. The vehicle has been seen in many magazines, on trails all over the West Coast, in parades, on trail work parties, and at many schools and businesses. It is used as a centerpiece to talk about responsible OHV use and to promote the sport as a whole. (more…)

  • Speed Technologies Chuck Dempsey Released To Race

    RENO, NV – OCTOBER 27, 2010:  Chuck Dempsey, who had a heart attack in July, has made a full recovery and was released by doctors last week to return to off road racing.  “It was a wake up call and luckily there is no damage to my heart,” said Dempsey who has hereditary heart conditions.  Dempsey has taken a leadership role in encouraging everyone to get CPR certified and pay better attention to their bodies while racing.   • VORRA Halloween Bash Short Course Race at Prairie City OHV

    RENO,NV    OCTOBER 25, 2010: VORRA’s final weekend of the 2010 Season will be October 30-31 at Prairie City OHV Area in Folsom, CA.  Join hundreds of racers, spectators and crews for a full day of truck and car racing on Sunday.  Saturday will host a day of ATV racing and in the evening there will a Costume BBQ Party and Kids Pumpkin Carving Contest.

    The season points battle continues to be close, with this one short course race remaining to crown the overall winners.  After the last round, Sam Berri pulled away in the lead with Mike Koenig in second only 16 points behind.  Red Team Racing maintained their third overall position and first place in their class.  It looks like all of the classes have some battles going on, but Class 10 will certainly come down to the final round to determine the winner.
