  • 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl Brought Off Roaders Together for September 11th

    OROVILLE, CA    SEPTEMBER 28, 2010:  The Urban Assault OHV area held the 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl over the weekend of September 11-12, 2010.  The event, open to all levels of competitors, from no prior experience to the pros in the unlimited class was a great success.  From Rock crawling to mud drags on Saturday and Sunday there was plenty of action to be seen.  The Teeter Totter competition on Sunday drew a large crowd, watching to see who could accomplish such a difficult feat. Included in the weekend long events was a display of the local police, fire and military vehicles in honor of the fallen 9/11 victims.  The big hit of the weekend, for kids of all ages, was the opportunity to ride in the Airborne Ranger Monster Truck.   • Susan Austin Finishes First Ever Desert Race

    RENO, NV   SEPTEMBER 28, 2010 – Susan Austin finished the first desert race she has ever entered at the VORRA Hawthorne 225 race on September 5th.   “I have been told by the best, including Rod Hall, that to win a race you must first complete the race.  My goal for this first race was just to finish, and I am so excited that I did!” said Susan Austin, who IronWomaned the entire 225 miles.

    After attending the VORRA Xtreme Outlaw race in June, she decided that she wanted to start racing.  “It just looks like so much fun,” said Susan Austin.  “I don’t know how old women are that take up this sport, but at 60 to take it up I think this is amazing…  I imagine most ladies take up knitting, I don’t think I will ever do that!” (more…)

  • Dave Cole and Jason Scherer Team up for the 2011 Ultra4 Season

    APPLE VALLEY, CA SEPTEMBER 24, 2010 In a perfectly matched scenario, Jason Scherer will be driving the Dave Cole Motorsports Ultra4 car for the 2011 season. Their season will consist of the 2011 King of the Hammers, 2011 Grand Slam Series and the 2011 Best in the Desert series as well as selected VORRA races.
