  • The Armory Acquires Off-Road Racing Series TORC: The Off Road Championship; USAC Remains Sanctioning Body

    CRANDON, Wisc. – The Armory, a leading Southern California-based advertising agency and production Company, announced today it is acquiring the popular motorsports racing series, TORC: The Off Road Championship, from the United States Automobile Club (USAC). The Armory has been working with the series since 2010 primarily in the form of television production for the Discovery Networks, SPEED, FUEL & NBC Sports.     Dirt Riot Final Southeast Series Endurance 4x4 RacingPLACERVILLE, CA   AUGUST 20, 2013:  The new Dirt Riot Southeast Series will wrap up this weekend at the Durhamtown Plantation in Union Point, GA with drivers from hours around joining in on the horsepower of fun.  Racing starts at 9am and will go until at least 3pm with awards immediately following. “Opening up this Southeast series was a great idea, we have really enjoyed the racers that have come out and look forward to seeing who the winners of the series will be after this weekends race,” said Rich Klein, President and founder of W.E. Rock Events.  “This will be the final race of the regular season before our National Rampage Race in Texas in October where all the drivers from across the country will converge to compete for a 2014 King of the Hammers starting position.” (more…)

  • Healy Finds Redemption at Arkansas RCV ULTRA4 Race

     Photo by: Thom Kingston of SpiderTraxAugust 17th, 2013 – Hot Springs, AR: The 4WD Hardware ULTRA4 Eastern Regional Series came to a finale last weekend  at the RCV ULTRA4Race at Superlift ORV Park in Hot Springs AR. 2010 King of the Hammers winner, Loren Healy started the race in the pole position after qualifying first on Friday and never looked back. Healy had not planned on racing in Arkansas, however, after experiencing DNFs in Indiana and Utah, he made the decision to make the trek to Arkansas. (more…)

    From the lights of the Las Vegas strip to the high desert of Reno, Nevada, this year’s General Tire Vegas to Reno challenged some of the best drivers the off road racing industry has to offer. Five hundred and fifty miles across the Mojave Desert at temperatures reaching upwards of 108 degrees gave everyone a run for their money.     Pier Acerni wins Back to Back on Raceline WheelsGARDEN GROVE, CA    AUGUST 19, 2013:  Pier Acerni chose Raceline Wheels before their first King of the Valleys UK event last year.  Since, he has competed and won both King of the Valley events and competed at the 2013 King of the Hammers.  “Yes, we run the 17×9.5 Monster Aluminum Beadlock wheels.  We didn’t punch any tires, different to others that cut many tires.  Our car is very heavy weight, but the wheels are very strong and we haven’t had any problems in the rocks,” said Pier Acerni of Italy’s Team Acerni Racing in his broken English.     Garrick Freitas won the 2012 General Tire Vegas to Reno race on 35" DOT approved GRABBER's.Fort Mill, SC – August 16, 2013.  Noted as the longest off-road race in the U.S., the General Tire Vegas to Reno race provides a platform for General Tire to showcase their signature red letter GRABBER tire which was born from competition.  Originally developed in the desert, the GRABBER tire, and its technologies, transcend the race course and are available to consumers at dealerships across the country.  But it was a lengthy process, and labor of love, to bring the GRABBER to life.

    “Once we began testing the GRABBER tire, we spent a couple years in the desert refining the technologies,” said Tony Talbert, tuning key account manager for General Tire.  “We modified the tire two to three times until it worked well in the desert before bringing it to the street.” (more…)
