    RENO, NV     FEBRUARY 3, 2011   The innovators of CNC Cutting Systems for the everyday garage enthusiast gathered key builders and tools to work at their Reno, NV facility to build a one-of-a-kind Ultra4 car that will race in the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers next Friday.  “It has been quite a challenge, but it is amazing the car that this group has been able to assemble,” said JT Taylor, General Manager for the Torchmate Racing Team.  “I am excited to be able to compete in this race and the rest of the Ultra4 races in this rig and proving it as a winning car.” (more…)

  • King Shocks Raffle to Benefit Fast-Aid at KOH

    King Shocks will be holding a raffle at 8:00pm in the Griffin lounge at the 2011 King of the Hammers Race. The proceeds of the raffle will be going to Fast-Aid, an organization that helps injured racers and their families and holds basic first aid training for teams and individuals. Many of us in the offroad community spend long hours in remote areas. Having a team member who can administer basic first aid and CPR should tragedy strike could make the difference between life or death. This raffle would not be possible without the hard work done by Fast-Aid and the generous support from the following companies in the offroad community who have donated so far.

  • On Track Racing Team Premiers at 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers

    CEDAR CITY, UT    FEBRUARY 1, 2011:  On Track Racing Team, composed of Dean Bulloch, Barry Beadle, Buzz Bronsema and Todd Stephensen will put four Ultra4 cars on the starting grid of the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers running BFGoodrich KRT Tires.  “We have pretty much been a team all along without saying anything,” said Barry Beadle.  “We are making it formal so we can show team support at all the Ultra4 Races this year.  Each member of the team brings a talent and success from 2010, which when put all together we have a greater chance to make a serious impact.” (more…)

  • Shaffer Motorsports Competes in Class 10 for 2011 Race Season

    OAKLAND, CA   FEBRUARY 1, 2011  –  Shaffer-Motorsports racing team will join Class 10 for the Best In The Desert series, the SNORE Mint 400 and the SCORE Baja 1000 in 2011.  Torchmate number 1066 Driver of Record Mike Shaffer boasts 3 Baja 1000 wins, 3 SCORE Championships and one BITD Championship in Class 1700.  “We are really excited to move into Class 10 this year and be competitive.  This car is really fast, and it will be fun to race,” said Mike Shaffer.   • Crowley Off-Road Racing Prepares for the 2011 King of the Hammers UTV Race

    SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA   JANUARY 31, 2011  –  The Crowley Off-Road Racing Team will be driving the Monster Energy Kawasaki Teryx in the Pit Bull Tires UTV Race at the Griffin King of the Hammers Thursday February 10, 2011 at Johnson Valley, CA.  “We have competed in this race since its inception, and I am looking forward to another challenge.  Adding more rock obstacles to the desert course really makes it where we have to work at getting to the finish line,” said driver of record Jon Crowley who has finished every year.
