Started working Land Use and Access issues when I was hearing of land closures in my area. Never looked back.
Have a lovely wife that supports my habit of playing in the dirt and rocks. She loves it too though, and she is a good driver of the Jeep on the trails.
I think I spend about 20 to 30 hours a week on land use information every week. I do it to try and keep our public lands open for our access.
