So hear me out and would like constructive criticism on this please.

For a light weight rear steer buggy build axle set-up.
Trail Gear rock assault 9's axle housing Front roller kit. Used for front and rear
Says they are D60 style knuckles and hubs, up to 50 degree of angle, brakes included, steering arms, seals.
35 spline axles (not included in kit) Hi 9 diffs also not included.

Anyone have any experience with a complete Trail gear 9 axle build like this?? Also thoughts on how it would hold up or possible issues with doing this. Thanks!!

You will regret 35 spline.

I haven't dealt with the TG kits, but was recently researching ECGS 40spline options.

So 35 spline just won't hold up? Wonder if there is a way to get 40 spline in that set up. ECGS thanks I will check them out!

I know too many people breaking 35 spline stuff and spending $$ to upgrade to 40. IMO, spend it once.

Hard call on that. Over the past 15 years running stickies, I tend to break a D60 35 spline shaft about every other year - if that frequent. I ran 39” Reds on a 35 spline 9” for 11 years and never broke a rear shaft. I’ve broken one stock 14 bolt axle shaft in the past 6 years. No way I can justify the cost to switch to 40 spline.
I don’t compete but wheel fairly hard with a heavy rig and more than enough HP.

I am careful to not bind my tires.

All that said, if you want to be bullet proof and have the budget on a NEW build, I would go for it.

I'd probably lean toward woody's advice on this one - the cost difference between 35 and 40 spline up front is way less painful than replacing broken parts on the trail later.
