Project: Camp Creek Wash Restoration
Location: Arizona
Description: In late January 2025, Tread Lightly! supported the Tonto National Forest by planting 100 trees and three acres of seed in the Camp Creek Wash area damaged by wildfire in 2024.
On June 4, two volunteers returned with the Forest Service to monitor and water the newly planted flora. Extreme desert temperatures can make mortality rates high, so monitoring and water is necessary to support new vegetation during summer months in the fire rehabilitation area.
