RENO, NV MAY 16, 2011 Torchmate Racing had four cars cross the finish line at the Silver State 300; one Class 1000 and three Class 4400. In a valiant effort, Class 1000 Mike Shaffer placed third in their second race in the new car. Also in a new car, JT Taylor placed 4th in the 4400 class with Roger Lovell placing 12th and Jesse Haines placing 9th securing himself a place in the 2012 King of the Hammers after completing the 300 mile desert race.

Ultra4s Dominate the Desert at Silver State 300
April 30, 2011- Las Vegas, NV: From grocery-getting Expeditions to monstrous blue-tubed buggies, it was hard to miss the unlimited 4-wheel drive class known as Ultra4 at last weekend’s Best in the Desert Silver State 300. The Ultra4 class, identifiable by their 4400 numbers, proved once again that they can hold their own in the desert: They were both the largest class at the start line and the largest class to cross the finish line at Saturday’s 300 mile high-speed race through Nevada’s scenic back country. The drivers had weather on their side as cool temperatures kept overheating issues at bay and windy conditions made passing easier on a course that is already known to be a smooth, fast course well suited for many of the Ultra4 cars. Torchmate Racing Sends Three Cars to BITD Bilek Silver State 300 JT Taylor #4413, Jesse Haines #4499, Mike Shaffer #1066
RENO, NV APRIL 27, 2011 Torchmate Racing JT Taylor will be driving #4413 and Jesse Haines will be driving #4499 at the Best in the Desert Bilek Silver State 300 race this weekend in the commonly known Ultra4 class which will be the largest class at this years Silver State event. Mike Shaffer will be running the Torchmate racing #1066 Class 1000 car. The race will start in Alamo, Nevada about 95 miles north of Las Vegas on Saturday April 30th. Torchmate Racing Team Finds Success at King of the Hammers
RENO, NV MARCH 2, 2011 Torchmate Racing debuted its new Ultra4 car at the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers with JT Taylor and Nick Socha navigating, alongside teammates Jesse Haines, Roger Lovell, Brad Lovell and Rusty Bray. Roger Lovell finished 17th, Rusty Bray finished 45th and Jesse Haines finished 46th. JT Taylor’s rear drive shaft along with cooling issues and Brad Lovell’s front differential were the final challenges in their race efforts on Friday February 11, 2011. “The Torchmate crew attacked and conquered all the challenges of the week, it is an amazing group of people that are strong willed and ready to help each other get to the start line and all the way to the finish line,” said JT Taylor, Torchmate Racing General Manager. JT Taylor Takes 5th in XORRA US National Points
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO AUGUST 13, 2010 JT Taylor finished 4th in last weekends XORRA race in Cortez, CO which put him 5th overall in the US National Points. With two great rounds of racing on Saturday and Sunday, his consistency paid off and is now heading to Lands End Hill Climb to participate in the Ultra4 Grand Slam of Offroad Series. (more…) -
JT Taylor Places First and Creates History at Pike Peak Challenge with Rock Racer
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO JUNE 30, 2010 JT Taylor is the first ever Rock Racer allowed to compete in the world renowned Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. JT Taylor competed in the Exhibition class and took first place with a time of 14 minutes 7 seconds, and a top speed of 86mph. “I am so excited to be a part of this race, and then to have the fastest time in the class is awesome.
