    ruffstuffLOOMIS, CA    JANUARY 7, 2012         The Free Ruffstuff Specialties Open Pit will be set up for the third consecutive year at the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers.  The 8 bay capabilities will include 9 Lincoln Electric Welders and a 4×4 Torchmate Table in addition to 3 full service mobile welding trucks that can come to you anywhere.  Racers have priority, but nobody will be ignored, including those without broken vehicles who would just like a Free RuffStuff or Lincoln Electric T-shirt or koozie!  “Last year we repaired 198 different vehicles and this year we have doubled our size and added additional capabilities,” said Dan Fredrickson, owner of Ruffstuff Specialties.  “We go above and beyond for anyone, and one of the cool things that we offer is allowing you to try all the latest and greatest equipment from Lincoln Electric.  We know that most off-road guys are welders, sometimes amazingly good and sometimes not, but all can benefit from the hands on experience.   • REDLYNER Racing Brings ‘Mall Crawling’ to the Desert in the 2013 Smittybilt Every Man Challenge

    CHARLOTTE, NC – December 12, 2012 – REDLYNER Racing (#4550) announces its participation in the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers Every Man Challenge on February 7, 2013, in Johnson Valley, CA.  Ultra-4 racer, Jay Callaway, will be piloting his daily driven, street legal, 2000 Jeep Wrangler.

    “We are out to prove that a well built, all-show, mall crawler can be competitive in the ultimate desert race,” said Jay Callaway, REDLYNER Racing. “This jeep has been built to pick up groceries on the way home from daycare on Friday, shine at the car show on Saturday and race through the Hammers on Sunday.”

  • Raceline Wheels Monster $5,000 Bounty at 2013 King of the Hammers

    RT233 Monster RacelineGARDEN GROVE, CA    NOVEMBER 29, 2012:  Every year since the King of the Hammers inception, Raceline Wheels has had multiple sets of Monster Wheels on course.  This year the Raceline Wheels team is adding a $5,000 bounty for the 2013 King of the Hammers winner in the Ultra4 race on Friday February 8, 2013 in Johnson Valley.  “We have always been about supporting our racers, who in turn support us.   • Gomez Brothers Win 2012 NorCal Rock Racing Championship Gomez Brothers Secure Two King of the Hammers Starting Positions

    GEORGETOWN, CA   NOVEMBER 8, 2012  – The Gomez Brothers, in their first year of racing the Ultra4 Class, have secured two 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers starting positions.  One through their finish at the Ultra4 Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno race and the second through claiming the 2012 NorCal Rock Racing Championship title.  “We have had a great year and are already in full preparation for February’s King of the Hammers,” said Marcos Gomez.  Marcos Gomez and JP Gomez will each be separate drivers of record at the 2013 King of the Hammers.   • Rock Meets Rally at 2013 King of the Hammers

    Denver, Colorado (Oct 25, 2012) – Two distinct driving styles come together to take on the 2013 King of the Hammers!  American Rock Rods has joined forces with Doug Siddens from RZRForums.net to take on one of the most brutal races in history, the 2013 King of Hammers UTV race, which will be held February 7, 2013 in Johnson Valley, California.

    The King of Hammers race (KOH) is referred to around the world as the toughest one day race in all of motorsports.  Combining high speed desert racing with very slow, very technical, and borderline insane rockcrawling, the King of Hammers is tough on both man and machine.  Since its inception, the race has grown exponentially, and it is now an entire week of events.  The 2013 King of Hammers UTV race is looking to be the best one yet, with 5 classes of competition and rules sanctioned by the International Side X Side Association.  The entire event is attended by over 30,000 spectators each year, and another 113,000 plus people watched it unfold live on the internet last year. The KOH race week is a spectacle in and of itself, with nothing else like it in existence. (more…)

  • Brad Lovell Declared 2012 Ultra4 Pro Series Champion

    September 26, 2012- Twin Peaks, CA: The 2012 Ultra4 Pro Series Championship began with the 2012 Griffin King of The Hammers and ended with the 2012 Ultra4 American Rocksports Championship last weekend in Tooele, Utah. More than 50 drivers from 20 states competed for a chance to be named the 2012 Ultra4 Pro Series Champion. Ultimately, Ultra4 veteran and short course champion, Brad Lovell, would claim the title.

    The 2012 Ultra4 Pro Series Championship consisted of three races. Each race was meant to highlight the unique characteristics and strengths of Ultra4 cars. The three races for this year’s series were: 2012 Griffin King of The Hammers, which emphasized high speed desert racing, endurance and rock crawling, Best in the Desert’s Vegas to Reno; a 500+ mile race through the Nevada desert that tested both cars and drivers endurance, and The American Rocksports Challenge which combined short course racing and rock crawling with multiple cars competing simultaneously in a series of heat races.
