  • Rob MacCachren Hopes To Make It Two In A Row At Baja 500

Rob MacCachren was victorious in the TORC season opener
Rob MacCachren is coming into this weekend’s Tecate SCORE Baja 500 with a confidence that some could mistake for arrogance, but only for those who don’t know Rob MacCachren.  “Rob Mac” is quiet and unassuming off the race course, but once he puts his Impact by MasterCraft Safety helmet on he is all business.  Such was the case at the season opening event for the 2011 TRAXXAS The Off-Road Championship (TORC) short course racing series in RedBud, Michigan.
Qualifying at RedBud was canceled due to inclimate weather, and MacCachren drew the second starting position for Sunday’s race.  Rob was able to jump out to an early lead in his new No. 21 Pro 2WD RAM truck for the flag-to-flag win and also earned the Oakley Bomb Award for fastest lap of the race.  “Driving an 800 horsepower rear wheel drive truck is enough of a challenge when it is dry!” MacCachren joked after the race. • Team LeDuc Racing Delivers Multiple Podium Finishes For ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools At Glen Helen

Curt LeDuc in the No. 43 Makita Tools / Truxxx Lift and Level Ford

Team LeDuc Racing considers Glen Helen Raceway their home track for its close proximity to their Cherry Valley headquarters, and the bleachers were packed with LeDuc fans last weekend for Rounds 5 and 6 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS).  The LeDucs even sponsored the second annual Racers for Christ raffle for Chaplain Steve Hansen, under the perfect Southern California weather.  The good karma certainly didn’t hurt, as Team LeDuc Racing had their most successful weekend of short course racing this season. • ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren Finishes On The Podium To March Forward In The LOORRS Point Race

Most of the 17 professional off-road drivers in Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series’ (LOORRS) premier Pro2 Unlimited class are ecstatic if they ever manage to reach the podium.  ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren holds himself to a higher standard though, constantly striving to be the best at whatever he does.  This iron will has allowed “Rockstar Rob” to earn three consecutive Pro2 Unlimited short course racing championships in as many years.  Coming into last weekend’s racing at historic Glen Helen Raceway, MacCachren was fifth in season points and looking to move forward in the rankings.
  • Will History Repeat Itself For ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren At Glen Helen?

During last year’s stop at Glen Helen Raceway for the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren won both rounds of short course racing and set the fast lap for the weekend in his ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck.  Coming into the first of two weekends at Glen Helen this season, MacCachren has already established himself as a force to be reckoned with as he has qualified first for every Pro2 Unlimited race this year.  Not only has “Rockstar Rob” put down impressive qualification times, he also claimed the victory during the last two rounds of racing at Speedworld Off Road Park, as highlighted on Youtube.  Will history repeat itself with another clean sweep for Rob Mac?

  • Rough Weekend Of Racing Can’t Keep ROCKSTAR Energy / Makita Tools Kyle LeDuc Off The Podium

Kyle LeDuc flying through the air on his way to the podium
Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona is a notoriously rugged track; particularly the stutter bumps in the infield that result in only one tire on the ground at any given time.  While that made for exciting short course racing in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) last weekend, when you are feeding 900 horsepower to all four Toyo Open Country M/T tires, like Team LeDuc’s three Pro4 Unlimited trucks, something has to give.  “Every time we break something we learn from that,” explained the always humble Curt LeDuc.  “We would just rather do our learning in practice that when we are racing.” (more…)
  • A Clean Sweep For Rockstar Energy’s Rob MacCachren In LOORRS Racing At Speedworld

Rob MacCachren atop the podium celebrating victory

Surprise, Arizona was the location of Rounds 3 and 4 of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing (LOORRS) this weekend, but no one was surprised when ROCKSTAR Energy’s Rob MacCachren overwhelmed the competition.  MacCachren has posted the fastest qualifying time for every Pro 2 Unlimited short course race this season, but was unable to convert that success into a win in the first two rounds of racing.  That all changed when the defending Pro 2 champion piloted his ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck to victory at Speedworld Off Road Park this weekend.
