  • FAST-Aid 2012 Year in Review and 2013 Exciting Future

    501(c)3 Tax Deductible Donations

    FastAidMESA, AZ – JANUARY 16, 2012:  Happy New Year from all of us at FAST-Aid!  2012 was a busy year taking care of racers and non-profit business needs.  We are excited for 2013 including the continued success of FAST-Aid and added participation programs that we hope you will join.

    During the 2012 calendar year, FAST-Aid assisted 7 different approved applications for individuals who were in financial need due to race related accidents.  Without this assistance these individuals would have had no way to pay medical bills and household expenses during their recovery.

    Also in 2012, the Board of Directors of FAST-Aid completed a nearly 3 year application process with the IRS to be a fully approved 501(c)3 organization.  (more…)

  • Roger Norman Never Gives up at Baja 1000

    RENO, NV     NOVEMBER 30, 2011  –  Roger Norman #8 Wide Open Excursions, Crystal Bay Casino Trophy Truck has always finished the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, and the 2011 race was no different.  After fighting multiple setbacks, where many would have called the race, Norman persevered to get to the finish line.  “I have never not finished a Baja 1000,” said Roger Norman. “This one had a lot of challenges though, if we wouldn’t have had all of these issues, I know we would have been on the podium!” (more…)

  • Roger Norman New Look at BITD Vegas to Reno

    Roger Norman Qualifies 18th Overall, 10th in Class

    RENO, NV     AUGUST 17, 2011  –  Roger Norman and Jake Velasco qualified in the #8 Wide Open Excursions, Crystal Bay Casino Class 1400 Trick Truck for the longest race on US Soil, the Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno that starts at 9:30am Friday August 19th.  On Wednesday, Norman qualified taking the 18th starting position, and 10th in the class of 28 Trick Trucks. “We had a clean run today with no issues and qualified mid-pack,” said Roger Norman after racing in 107’ Las Vegas heat.  “This is a long and dusty race across the Nevada desert, and we wanted to start out front, but would rather start with a truck that we didn’t have to work on tonight.” (more…)

    RENO, NV     AUGUST 11, 2011  –  Roger Norman is pleased to announce his newest venture with Wide Open Excursions, LLC as an owner and business partner.  Norman played a key role in opening Wide Open Reno at the Tahoe Reno Motorplex on August 1, 2011 and has assumed an investment role with the organization. “Wide Open Reno was such an exciting project that I decided to invest in the entire organization to help propel the brand to new heights, we truly have one of the most unique and exciting products in the adventure travel market and we need the world to know it,” said Norman.     2010 Baja 500 Motorcycle Incident Tim Nugent Has Full Recovery and will Co-Drive

    RENO, NV     JUNE 1, 2011  –  The Norman Motorsports team consisting of Roger Norman, Lance Clifford and Tim Nugent went to Baja last week to begin pre-running for the upcoming 2011 SCORE Baja 500 that will take place this Saturday.  “We have been pre-running everyday, morning until night,” said Roger Norman.  “Pre-running is very important, it is where we get to see everything and discover all the little things that we might have trouble with during the race.” (more…)

  • Roger Norman Adds Tim Nugent to Baja 500 Deployment

    2010 Baja 500 Motorcycle Incident Tim Nugent Has Full Recovery and will Co-Drive

    RENO, NV     MAY 25, 2011  –  Roger Norman and the 2011 Baja team is gathering at Norman Motorsports in El Cajon, CA for final preparations and training maneuvers before heading across the border to pre-run for the 2011 SCORE Baja 500.  This years team will consist of Roger Norman driving the entire 500 miles with Lance Clifford as the co-driver for the first 300 miles and then Tim Nugent will co-driver to the finish line in celebration of his full recovery.  “Tim Nugent is the only thing tougher than my BFGoodrich Tires in Baja!  He is the motorcycle rider hit at last years Baja 500, who over the last 11 months has successfully recovered from 23 broken bones,” said Roger Norman.  “When Tim told me he still wanted to conquer the Baja 500 I asked him to be a part of our team.  Not only will he conquer it, but he will be in the truck with me at the finish line to celebrate a win and his full recovery!” (more…)
