    Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant and “Full Metal Jacket” Actor to Support Live Military-Inspired Jeep® Build as Part of Patriotic Celebration in Upper South Hall Lobby

    1944 Willys Jeep SASSuwanee, Ga. (July  10, 2013) – Omix-ADA® and Rugged Ridge today announced that R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny,” will appear as a guest celebrity at the Off Road Success Center in the Upper South Hall Lobby during the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 5-7.

    Best known for his role as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the motion picture “Full Metal Jacket,” Ermey, a devoted and retired marine, will hold several autograph sessions throughout the week at the Omix-ADA/Rugged Ridge Off Road Success Center alongside Omix-ADA’s historic military Jeep® collection. The Gunny will be onsite in the Upper South Hall Lobby from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday (11/5), Wednesday (11/6) and Thursday (11/7) as part of his support for a live Jeep® build. (more…)

  • SEMA Hails Proposal to Save Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area

    Rep. Paul Cook’s Legislative Solution Would Also Provide Access for Marine Corps Training

    Diamond Bar, CA (April 23, 2013) – The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has endorsed a proposal by Rep. Paul Cook that would end a five-year debate on how to expand the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) base at Twentynine Palms, California.  Under the compromise, the Marines would have access to the adjoining Johnson Valley Off-Highway (OHV) Recreation Area for up to 42 days a year for training exercises but the OHV area would be otherwise preserved in perpetuity.  (more…)

  • SEMA HAMMERS MESSAGE: SAVE JOHNSON VALLEY OHV RECREATION AREA

    semaTWENTYNINE PALMS, CA. (Feb. 7, 2013) – The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has joined with the Off-Road Business Association (ORBA) and a coalition of other land use advocacy organizations to keep the Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area open to enthusiasts.

    The Marine Corps wants to expand its base at Twentynine Palms, California to include ownership of nearly 147,000 acres of adjacent land in Johnson Valley in order to conduct large-scale training exercises for one or two months a year.  (more…)

    Designed with the same rugged construction as ODYSSEY® Extreme Series™ batteries, the new ODYSSEY® Performance Series™ batteries offer equivalent deep cycling capabilities, long service life and high reliability. ODYSSEY®Performance Series™ batteries are designed specifically for consumer applications, which do not require as many cold cranking amps (CCA) and reserve capacity (RC) minutes as ODYSSEY® Extreme Series™ batteries. However, they deliver more deep cycling capabilities for parasitic loads than conventional batteries. ODYSSEY® Performance Series™ batteries are constructed of a market accepted polypropylene case and cover that resists oil, cleaners and gasoline, in the same black and orange color as the ODYSSEY®Extreme Series™ batteries.  (more…)
